the del on coronado island is the perfect getaway. our third time there in less than two years. beautiful hotel, incredable setting, wonderful staff. great value off season and don't pay for a ocean front room. it's not like your gonna spend the entire time in the hotel looking out the window? get a courtyard room and spend the rest on yourself. p.s. local resturaunts are awesome... don't be afraid to stroll down orange avenue. some of the best pizza / mexican dining at low $$$$$$ joe

This beautiful old world resort is located right on the beach and close to all the shops in Coronado. The beach is very clean and we actually saw a couple of wedding performed there. A hidden surprise was watching all the Airforce planes take off and land. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but we were on a romantic getaway and didn't mind so much. A very relaxing place to hang out for the weekend. Definately would come back! Be sure to take the time to walk around the town, there's lots of great shops and restaurants.

Over priced

Old Del No More

The Old Hotel Del Coronado is gone replaced by a theme park resort. Management is more concerned with extracting money from the non-stop flow of tourists delivered to the resort by tour busses than taking care of their overnight guests. The first room we were assigned was billed as an ocean view, but the view was blocked by the constructoin of new timeshare buildings. We finally got a room in a nicer location. They have also removed the only inexpensive restaurant and replaced it with an expensive upscale eatery that is only open for dinner. It is a pain to stand in line for breakfast with a hugh empty closed restaurant right around the corner. This hotel is at it's best in the early morning before the tourists invade. Very Sad...
