The hotel was a huge disappointment. The bathroom was old (the only thing updated was a pedestal sink). The ceiling would get a lot of condensation on it when you showered and then drip on you after you got out. The carpet was not in good condition..we were afraid to take our shoes off. The blankets on the beds were old, with holes and threadbare. All of the outlets in the room were worn out. The phone chargers would not stay plugged in. The pull-out sofa...well, could feel the springs and again the bedding was threadbare and full of holes.TheT.V.and lamps were plugged in with several extension cords with multiple electrical items plugged in...I'm sure it was a fire hazard. The towels were also threadbare and I had to call for more towels everyday. One eve. it took 4 hours to get a few sets of towels. The shuttle to the metro was in disrepair. The floorboard was literally taped together in areas and the swinging door was flapping all about. I would never stay again. We paid over *** per night...not worth ** a night!!!!!!!

This was an excellent value for the money. Older hotel but recently updated and clean. Air conditioning could use updating as well but it wasn't unbearable. I would stay there again and would recommend it. They provide everything they describe except that the pool was closed when we were there.

The hotel is old but has been recently remodeled. Our king size suite had a separate bedroom and kitchen; very comfortable bed. Even though there is air traffic noise is minimal and is not on goiong during sleeping hours. The5 nite rate is a great value for the DC area.
The only negatives are the metro is a good 6 block walk but shuttle service is available during morning and afternoon/early evening hours.
The continental breakfast is not worth going to--they don't even have bread or bagels, just coffee and cereal. The manager did tell me they were going to address this because a lot of guest have mentioned this.
We highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
Young Couple, no kids. Absolutely loved it.

We arrived on a Saturday. There's no shuttle from the airport to the hotel on Saturday. So arrive on a different day if you want to catch the shuttle. We paid $20 for a 4 mile cab ride to the hotel, but we were unaware of the DC Metro at that time. Once we arrived our room wasn't quite ready (we arrived early), but the staff found a room for us rather quickly. We were very pleased with the room. LCD television, full kitchen, and a wonderfully comfortable bed. Hotel is a 5-10 minute walk to the Rosslyn Metro Station (very important if you are not planning to drive). The hotel is also right across from the Iwo jima Memorial and positioned at the north end of Arlington National Cemetary. We were a little disappointed the hotel didn't have any type of breakfast, but a grocery store and a couple of convenience stores are just 10 minutes away. We went mostly for the sites so we can't speak much about restaurants. The Quarterdeck just up the street has fresh crabs. It was about $55 for two. There are many restaurants that will deliver to the hotel. There's a McDonalds, Starbucks, and a Quizno's right across from the Rosslyn Station. Probably many other restaurants nearby, but we did not seek them out. Of course once you're in the Metro Station you're literally 15 minutes from just about anywhere in DC. In conclusion Virginian Suites is a great hotel for the money, the staff is fast and friendly, and you'll be just minutes away from all that you want to see and do in DC. Have a great trip!!
