Just spent 17 days and found every one friendly and always ready to help. My wife left her purse in the lounge on our last day and it was returned to her within minutes. This was our forth visit to Honolulu and it is always worth the 20 odd hours travel to be on this beautiful island. We could not fault the hotel in any way the staff were top rate. Will stay here on our next visit.

I got a great deal for this hotel from a discount broker online - & surprised my boyfriend who has never been to Hawaii, with this trip for his bday. We checked into the Ohana East & were offered a free upgraded suite which surprised me! When we got to the room it was all decked out with rose petals & champagne which surprised me again! Turns out my bf knew about the trip, and surprised ME by asking me to marry him & preparing in advance! We stayed for all 5 days for just $400 & had a wonderful time a the hotel & will surely use the same site again to get a good deal like this one in the future! Many happy returns - Aloha!

We have stayed at this hotel before and had great experiences in the past but this time it was only good. Check in was easy and convient. The staff overall helpful and knowleable. The room was clean but it had very small ants/spiders by the balcony which my daughters found disgusting. The room was tended to daily and housekeeping was great. The resturants in the hotel were extremely good." Keoni's" located in the main floor made an excellent breakfast and very reasnably priced. The "Round Table" also on the mainfloor was a good pub/pizza also very reasonably priced. This hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the beach, very convient. It is two blocks away fro the "Pink Line trolley" which you can access for free with your room card which takes you to the big shopping mall and other shops etc. It is a great service.
Great Hotel for price

The Ohana East is a great hotel. It is clean and convenient, right by the beach. It is conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki, close to restaurants and the outdoor market. We paid extra for a suite on the 18th floor with a huge balcony and a partial beach view. It was well worth it. The beds were comfortable and the service was good. This hotel is a solid choice for the price. It's not the Bellagio, but it is the equivalent of a nice Sheraton. We are already making plans to stay there again.
Mediocre at best

Front of the house staff is friendly in addition to housekeeping. Room was painfully small. Queen sized bed was NOT comfortable at all. Problems with hot water in our room. Water did not get hot...not even warm. Called to have problem fixed and maintenance came right away. Maintenance was in the bathroom running the water for over 15 minutes and then comes out to say problem solved...we just have to run the water. Water was tepid to warm and never got hot! Later that night same problem...no warm/hot water...called maintenance again and was told the same thing...let water run. What a waste of time as well as precious resource!!!
