AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Where do I begin? Everything was just great from the friendly hello at the door to every single staff member they were all so kind and more than willing to help with directions or advice on subways where to eat anything we needed. If you mentioned you needed a cab they were out in the street trying to get one for you before you could get out the door. The beds are heaven!!!!!!!!!!and after a day of walking miles and miles they were exactly what we needed. The location couldn't have been more convenient the subway was just a very short walk pretty much got you to downtown or uptown. Had a decent meal at the barking dog not bad for the price. The room was clean and housekeeper always made sure we had enough towels. I am saving to stay there again I loved it.........................

BEST HOTEL IN NYC!

This hotel is the best, Stayed here overnight with our children and even they recognized how great this place is! The door man new all of our names and the staff was the most polite and helpful staff ever. The room was huge and had a fully loaded kitchen. My wife and daughters loved the Aveda Bath products! We had our choice of pillows and our children loved the free Iced Tea and Fruit in the lobby. We would reccomend this hotel to anyone. Barking Dog cafe was a monster hit for breakfast - large portions great price (Except the $* bowl of Fruit Loops my daughter order but this is NYC).

Great!!

First trip to NY hit a home run...

with Affinia Dumont. This hotel was phenomenal! Great Location: 2 blocks from subway (1 stop from Grand Central), walking distance to Times Square, Grand Central, Grammercy, little bit of a trek but managable to Lower East Side and Village. Central park and Soho had to cab it but still very convenient. Only one subway change to Yankee Stadium. Markets and shops all around. 3rd Ave. has absolutely tons of pubs/bars/restaurants from 34th down to Lower East Side, we ate three times in this area, two pubs and one italian restaurant and hit up several local bars away from the tourists and the club crowd. Room was fantastic! Seemed spacious from what I hear about NY hotels, we thought it used to be an apartment building with the kitchenette and large rooms but apparently has always been a hotel. Decorated upscale and very clean, great beds and linens. We only went to the Barking Dog for drinks but it's still great for right downstairs and packed a crowd for Sunday Brunch. Exercise room was great, didn't use the Spa but looks nice. Staff was more than friendly, when our car service wouldn't come into the city to take us on the return trip of the airport (2MM+ people at the Puerto Rican Parade) the bell hop had their car service come get us. There's also a great little diner about 2 blocks away to the southwest. All in all a great location, hotel, and staff. Couldn't have asked for a better trip.

Bad start - Bad End

The hotel gave away our room - downgrading our prepaid room without telling us. When we complained the next day they comp the first night and gave us any room we wanted. In addition they gave us a free dinner at the Barking Dog Restaurant. We had dinner on the last night of our stay. My husband wound up at NYU hospital with food poisoning. The hotel comp a second night when we returned to the hotel and told them. We love this hotel. We've been here many times. It was just a bad trip. Note-We never received our refund from Travel website.
