Staff and room disappointing

We had reservations for 3 rooms for several family members. When we arrived in mid- afternoon they told us they gave one room away to another traveler and did not have any more rooms available in the same price range. I told them I'd accept an upgrade at the same price since they admitted they "gave my room away" and the staff at the desk agreed, but after messing with the computer for at least 5 minutes they suddenly "found" another room just like I reserved. All 3 rooms happened to be just right beside each other. The queen rooms all are right next to the railroad tracks, which they don't inform you about when making the reservations. Trains were very noisy and run in the middle of the night. All in all, not a good night! Inconsiderate staff. Mold or mildew around the air conditioning unit in the room. Breakfast gone before posted hours, and staff said they could not replenish because breakfast would be over in about 30 minutes anyway.

CLOSE TO TRAIN

A very active railroad backs up to the hotel. Numerous freight trains went through during the night. If you stay; insist on a room on the frontside of the hotel or be prepared for the rumble of freight trains to wake you in the night.

Disappointing

Fitness center consists of three pieces of equipment- a broken treadmill, a non-adjustable bicycle and a stair climber, all in a 8 x 10 room. "Suites" are not suites, just a partial half wall between the bed and torn sofa. Carpet in rooms awful

Smoking or Non

I was given a smoking room and without paying at least $20.00 more per night could not change rooms. Thank goodness the windows opened and I could let in some fresh air. Not a good experience.

"Although I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this Comfort Inn, I did notice that the wallpaper could stand to be replaced. The staff was accommodating, the free breakfast was incredible and I really enjoyed the hot spa after a hard days work! "
