A little piece of heaven

I had been driving for about 13 hours when I pulled into the Hilton Garden Inn in Columbia. The staff at the desk were friendly and welcoming. I went with a King room and the bed was absolutely phenomenal! The only problem was that it was hard to get out of it the next morning! My room was very quiet, despite what another poster said about the lumber yard out back. I didn't hear any noise at all.
The business center feature, where you can print wirelessly from your room via your internet was a particular easy bonus. The desk chair was very comfortable, too.
The marble in the bathroom was a nice feature and the shower/bath curved bar was a bonus.
I regret not getting the opportunity to partake of the dining facility.
Noisy Construction

Normally you would assume staying at a Hilton Chain Hotel would mean quiet, peaceful relaxation in choice accommodations. Unfortunately, this hotel is adjacent to a monstrous lumberyard construction project. At 6AM Saturday morning, the beeps of front end loaders backing up woke us and continued in conjunction with load hammer clangs and motors running. Perhaps this hotel would be great on a Sunday morning when the lumberyard is complete but for now, too noisy, noisy, noisy!

The service was very good from the moment my family and I walked into the hotel. It was also nice having a restaurant on site since we found ourselves traveling through Columbia, MO during a snow storm. The staff was friendly and we even wound up staying longer than we anticipated. Through the storm, we found our midwest home away from home.
Making Business feel like Home

They have a restuarant right on property and is convenient. Wireless throughout the building good for traveling business men and women. An indoor pool with jacuzzi so you can relaz after a long day of working. They even have banquet rooms available for parties to business meetings.
