GREAT CHOICE HOTEL

I just like to say this was a very comfortable, affordable hotel right in the heart of manhattan very convience to everything. When planning a trip to the big apple be sure to do a trip search. We took a taxi almost to everywhere and realized every place on our trip list was within walking distance. Times square approx 6 blocks, fifth avenue 4 blocks, empire states bulding 4 blocks, rockefeller 4 blocks, central park 6 blocks. All sorts of food places and cvs is 2 blocks one big circle. The hotel even offer transportation to the air port (very affordable). The concierge is very familiar with everything and helpful. All I have praises to give to murray hill. I truly enjoyed my stay and will come back again.

Murray Hill East Suite Hotel

I stayed at the Murray Hill East Hotel with 3 "girl friends." We ladies had gone to NYC to see a friend's daughter in Rent. Too bad the Broadway strike cancelled that, but the hotel was great! 2 nights, with taxes (lots of taxes) came to $860. The first night was a Saturday and more expensive than the Sunday night.
A very large bedroom with 2 Queen(?) beds and a good-sized living room with a pull-out Queen sofa bed and loveseat meant plenty of room. The full kitchen gave us spots for keeping breakfast food and bottles of wine--even a corkscrew in the silverware drawer! Coffee machine and supplies were provided.
We could see the Empire State Building from the window, there was a up-to-date fitness center and garden access (we did not use these, as walking around NYC was enough exercise for all of us), and friendly and helpful staff. Parking was close-by and we got a discount with a hotel stamp. The doorman tipped us off to the discount or we would have missed out. TV reception was not good on some channels.
We walked to the Times Square area, stopped by Grand Central Station on the way, and had grocery, bakery, drug store and bagel places just around the corner. Also restaurants and ars in the area, ut we did not try these out.
We walked to the Hell's Kitchen Flea Market one day, and the 23rd St. and 3rd. Ave area to visit several thrift stores another, as we are that kind of shoppers!

My 2 older sisters and I (we are college students) went there as our lil trip before school starts, and since we were looking for inexpensive hotel, we tried "Name your own price" at travel.com and we got this hotel only for $100 per night. At that time, since none of us have never been to NY, didn't know if we got a good deal or not, but as we arrived in this hotel, we just felt SO LUCKY!! because another hotel we stayed before staying at Murray was Edison hotel and it was Horrible although we paid $200 per night staying there! the room in Murray was SOOOOO much bigger, cleaner, cozier and even staff were sooo nice too and we felt very welcomed. Murray was kinda in residential neighborhood, so there isn't lots of noise (which was one of the best), 10mins walking distance to subway station, and since it's in the middle of Manhattan, it's close to everywhere! Wall st, 5th Ave, Times Square..etc so if I go back to NYC, i would definitely stay here!

Great Place to Stay

This was our first trip to New York and I picked this hotel based on reviews, location, and that it offered a kitchenette. The hotel was in a somewhat residential neighborhood so there was not a lot of traffic noise in our room. There are grocery stores, drug stores, restruants and a Star Bucks within one block. Grand Central Station is about a 10 minute walk. I was not disappointed with this hotel.

Very pleased

Couldn't be happier. Nothing fancy, but very practical. 5 min walk to Grand Central with transportation to anywhere.
