Would not stay here again due to the extremely loud noise of the air conditioner/heating unit . The wall unit located beneath the window constantly cycles on and off, and is extremely loud. Each time it cycles, it awakens you ,making it impossible to get a good nights rest. This cycling of air conditioning/heating unit s was not only in our room, since i could hear the units in the adjacent rooms as well. The hotel location was fair, but on rainy days, access to the metro station was not the best.
a very nice stay

the crown plaza was a very nice place to stay! the staff were very attentive to the needs of the customer. we had a slight problem upon check in but they gave us breakfast passes and drink passes for our trouble. they were steam cleaning the rugs. the breakfast was good much better than a continental style. my party and i will return to washington in the future and will probably stay with the crown plaza team again. great food with in walking distance for all culinary tastes. transportation within easy access. a great trip needless to say! recommended highly.
Stayed 8-7 thru 8-11-2008. Would definetly stay again.

I have only 2 bad things 2 say,: 1-Eat elsewhere, and 2-I am upset with the shuttle pick-up. I was charged $ each way for 2 people when the hotel provided free shuttle service. That is a $ total each way that was unnessary. That was the savings on the room. Beware of what you are getting.
The rest of the trip was excellent! Close to the Metro train which takes you nearly everywhere. The beds and pillows were excellent. We didn't want to get out of bed. lol

I stayed in this hotel when visiting Washington, DC. Its location was great because it was within walking distance to a Metro station, close to the Crystal City shops, and in an area where I felt safe. Just a few stops away on the metro and we were right in the middle of Washington where everything you could want to see is located.
The staff of the hotel was very friendly and professional. I was allowed to check in before the "official" check-in time, but then I got to the room and it was still being cleaned. After waiting a few minutes in the hallway, we got in the room and started getting comfortable, then someone came back in with towels. A couple of minutes later and a maintenance person appeared to fix the handle on the closet door. It was a little unnerving having so many people come into the room in the first 10 minutes we were there!
I was disappointed that the room did not have free Internet access or a refrigerator. On the hotel's web site, it lists that high speed Internet access and in-room refrigerators are available, but they don't tell you how much they cost every day. In addition, parking is $*/night. Before booking this hotel, make sure you understand what all the "extras" cost. You may be able to find a better deal.
