Good Enough

I thought the staff was very nice, the hotel is close to everything you need or want. The hotel itself is a little old and needs some updates on pretty much everything. And the free breakfast did not include anything hot like the waffles I am used to. But for the most part if I had to go to LA again I would choose this hotel as the service and the great location out weighed the updates that are needed.

We found this hotel to be in a very good location for our activities in West Hollywood area. The hotel was clean and the staff polite and helpful.

Not a business destination

Got a persistent sense of improvisation from the staff. Found that my card key stopped working because it was in the same zip code as my cell phone (NOT near it). Complimentary continental breakfast was in the eye of the beholder, and I skipped it 2 out of 3 days where I knew I was a long way from lunch. Wired Internet service required some tweaking, and was only 10Mbps; my laptop would not boot with the Internet link connected. Cable TV had the worst reception I've ever seen, with half the channels unwatchable; fortunately, I was working more than watching. Lots of stuff nearby, but the noise wasn't too terrible. Parking under the place is VERY tight -- I was glad to have an econobox rental; cardkey access took some persistence.

Good Location, Good value for money

There was no review for this place when I booked it, but from its description it seemed that it was close to the places I want to visit, so with the money constraint I booked it. My only concern was the location being safe. Well as per description it was very close to Universal studios, around 10 minutes drive on a saturday morning. It was 5 minutes drive to the Grauman's Chinese Theatre and Kodak Theatre on Sunday. Only Disneyland resort was around 50 min drive on Mon. The building was bit old but clean. There is very small indoor pool as well which was vacant all the time. Service was good, my entry card would stop working due to placing them near the cell, but they would reactivate them immediately. Wireless had some issues on the Sat and Sun, so I had to go into the lobby to use it. On the third night my toilet stopped working so they moved me to anther room immediately. The place is in a diverse and a safe neighborhood. There are so many different shops around the corner. Bedrooms were OK. They have a microwave (which i never used) and a fridge, my first room had a sofa that had a hole in it, the second room sofa was OK. They have a breakfast bar as well which has at the best a mediocre menu, but again its free. To me if you need a roof on your head at night, this place will do it for sure. I booked it the day i needed it so it cost me 95/day, I am sure next time i will book early and have it cheaper than that. I will stay here again for sure.

Park Meadows Lodge

The last real old-style ski lodge in Vail! It's complete with a huge, round, real wood-burning fireplace in the center of the lobby, which is spectacular because these are no longer allowed! The fire-pit is surrounded by couches so you can relax by the fire and read, nap, or roast marshmallows. It's an old-fashioned lodge with modern amenities. All of the rooms are individually owned condos, thus each is differently decorated, but all have everything you need to make your stay an enjoyable and comfortable one. We had a studio with a queen sized bed and a queen sized pull-out couch. Other rooms are one bedroom and two bedrooms. They all have kitchenettes, full bathrooms, and cable TV—so it really is like a home away from home. There is also an outdoor hot tub, free parking, laundry facilities, a game room, free shuttle service to the mountain, an 8-minute walk to the cascade lift, and a 5-minute walk to the shuttle that takes you to Vail Village. The location is perfect!
