Do Not Stay at this Clarion No Star Hotel

Stayed for hurricane Gustav evacuation August 31 - September 03. They took the dirty towels the first day and did not replace them. They never cleaned the room. I went to desk second evening to get towels and was told there were none available, get them in the morning. We took towels from a friend's room and hid them so they would not take them again. Never got towels replaced the entire time. The Internet was broken at checkin but they did not bother telling us. When I called to see why I could not connect, hey said it was broken for several days. They were not trying to get it repaired during our stay. The hallways are hot (No AC), humid, noisy, and dark. Parking lot fenced with barbed wire. Tub stained, toilet stained. Keep driving. Do not stay here. In fact I really have to wonder what has happed to Clairon to allow their name on this hotel

We checked in, looked at the room, and checked out. The hotel is under renovation and may be fit to stay in when it is finished. The room, furniture, carpet, and hallways were not clean. The staff was plesant and understanding; they are working under very difficult circumstances.

I found the staff to be very helpful and knowledgable about the area. The free Continental Breakfast included biscuits and gravy and make your own waffles, it was delicious. I'd stay there again.

Shuttle service was non-existent, bathtub didn't drain, staff gave wrong directions. Everything seemed to need some sort of repair.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed at in over 20 years. The hotel is in a very bad area, the hallways are dark and the carpet filthy, the rooms smell, the bathroom is dirty, the toilet was especially dirty. Everything here is stained. Nasty hotel that does not deserve a single diamond.
