Quote: Hotel was extremely overpriced for condition of room and location. Did not get type of room we booked. We finally got a different room and the king size bed felt like it had two levels; the mattress was very bad. Balcony on room was nice and overlooked the ocean and pool. The pool was nice and all the pool people were nice; so was the front desk staff. The private beach is much smaller than expected but the pier is nice to watch the sunset and sunrise. Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) at beach and pool are way overpriced for the portion sizes given. The rooms are a little outdated and I was expecting much nicer rooms for the price that we paid. They were clean but overpriced. I do not plan on staying at that hotel... Read More

Watch for Hidden Fees

Quote: Be aware of hidden charges when you book with this Resort. When we arrived, we were told that there was a non-optional $* per day resort fee for use of the pool, etc. This was the case even if we weren't planning to use the amenities they described. I went back to check my reservation, and sure enough there it was in the "fine print." I should have checked more closely, but this is the first time I have had this happen. I saw this happen with several others as well when they checked in. Also, I expected the staff to be more accomodating and friendly at such a reputable resort, but was very disappointed.

Quote: Beautiful hotel, but the island view was someone's back yard where they were remodeling something. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were nice, I could not get the espresso machine to work. The location is good for families because it was not loud or wild.

Use Caution with this place !

Quote: We stayed 4 nights at this hotel this past week. We booked the Deluxe Ocean view One Bedroom Suite. We arrived around noon and our room was not ready. I understand its not Guaranteed till 4pm but when we asked how soon it might be ready we got a very rude response that it will be ready by 4Pm . Well it was about 3:45 pm when they finally offered us our room however they tried to slip us a room one catagory below what we paid for. We stood our ground and 30 minute later we were in the room we paid for. Our room was very nice and we were very happy with the room all in all. Now here is the main issue with this hotel. They charge a $* fee per room per day for all the extras they provide. The problem is THEY DONT EVEN PROVIDE THEM !! We... Read More

Very Disappointing

Quote: We recently stayed at the Reach for two nights. Like some of the other reviewers, we were very disappointed. This hotel did not look or feel like a Waldorf and as such was overpriced. In addition, the waitstaff at breakfast was downright rude. I had much nicer rooms and much better service at normal Hilton hotels. We'll never stay here again. They did have really good bellboys - both for picking up luggage and valet. They were the highlight of our stay.

Not Satisfied

Quote: This hotel does not live up to the Waldorf reputation at all. We have stayed at several Waldorf hotels/resorts in the past and always with great satisfaction...this did not compare. We booked a one room suite with ocean view and the view was if you were standing on your tip-toes and looked through the trees carefully you had a view. It was said that the room sleeps 4 but it was the tiniest pullout couch I had ever seen...impossible to sleep two on it. Bathroom had no seperate door so everyone had to be out of the bedroom when it was being used. Found the description and pictures on the site not accurately depict what you find when you get there. Very disappointed...would not stay there again.

Hotel is overpriced for what you get.

Quote: We recently stayed at the Reach Hotel as a anniversary trip and while the room looked like the pictures on the website it seemed pretty basic when we arrived. The staff was friendly enough and very helpful. We did not have robes as described on the website I had to request them and on our second morning we decided to order room service for breakfast. Well the The Reach special of two eggs and toast was at the very least disappointing. The actually only gave us one slice of bread cut in half. I personally have never had that happen to me at any hotel I've ever stayed at. I mean really who ever heard of serving one slice of bread and calling that toast mind you none of the condiments besides ketchup came with the meal and then after our 4... Read More

Quote: Our stay at the hotel was rated overall as good. The room was rather small and the view was not what I expected. The room was however clean upon arrival and housekeeping kept it that way throughout the remainder of our stay. The hotel staff was great, always willing to be of assistance. This hotel has in my opinon the best private beach on the island. Very clean and well kept. The beach staff was great. The hotel restaurant was nice, but rather pricey considering it caters to it's hotel guests. The location of the hotel in my opinion is great and well within walking distance of shopping and dining. Be advised that the hotel guest fee beach, pool, etc. is per day of your stay. Overall, our stay in Key West was great and I was glad to be in... Read More

BEST PLACE IN KEY WEST!

Quote: We have stayed here twice on vacation. It's one of the best in Key West. It's close enough to Duval street to walk to all the night life, but set far enough away that you have peace and quiet during the day. It's a rare treat in KW to have a beach at your hotel, and the Reach Beach is quiet & clean. Also the staff through out the hotel will do anything to help you. This resort is a little expensive, but well worth the money.

Less than Expected

Quote: The staff was very friendly and helpful, but my overall experiance was tainted by lack of attention to detail. Room provisions were inadequate for a comfortable stay. The island view room was a view of the back alley. The beach had a strong sulfur smell like rotten eggs.
