Had high hopes. Sadly Disappointed.

I had chosen this location over the other Choice property based mostly on the positive reviews. I was disgusted. The property is in the middle of town a good 5-7 miles from the interstate. The rooms are broke up into pods, and since our room was in the 500/600 building, to get to the front desk or dining you must walk outside and it didn't feel safe, so we drove back and forth, more on that in a moment. When we checked in I had to wait a couple of minutes while the night clerk finished her personal phone call before she could wait on me. We were stuck in the back in a room with a dehumidifier running full blast and ones in the hallways every 50 feet or so. The room was old and shabby. I had requested a ground floor room when I made the reservation 2 months ago, but was given a 2nd floor room, and the buildings concrete stairs were crumbling. Overhearing a hushed conversation between two employees when I checked out, I don't think they normally use the building I was in, but had overflow that night, and I got one of those rooms because we checked in late, even though I reserved months before. The breakfast was standard bagels, cereal and waffles, but they had run out of plates and coffee and no one seemed in any hurry to get more. As I said, I had hoped for more based on the reviews, but of the 4 or 5 properties we have stayed at in Lafayeltte this one was our worst so far. Now back to safety, when we came out to the car in the morning, 2 roosters came underneath the fence fighting followed by 3 teenagers over the fence, we left!

The hotel is really coming along. I stay for a weekend about every other month and I am amazed at the progress. The lobby and lounge are just beautiful and the restaurant was being worked on, but still open when I stayed last.
The staff is very helpful and glad to say that if they aren't sure about something, they go and find out instead of guessing. Everyone is kind and professional.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
Disappointing

The wifi was very slow, making it impossible to use the Internet. The noise levels in the morning were intolerable. The room was small, with a large glass sliding door to the sidewalk. My wife did not feel safe there at night. You can find better for the money.
In town for the weekend

I went with my family to Lafayette to visit the area and some old friends. We were truly pleased with the service we received at Comfort Inn. The staff was nice. The hotel is older but you can tell they take care of it. It has a real comfortable feeling. Next time we are in Lafayette, we will go back to this hotel.
