Paradise in San Diego

No wonder they call themselves the Paradise. Unbelieveable stay! Fire-pit in front of my room. My wife and I had dinner at the Baleen; great service, great food. I am definitely going back for the monkey bread.

nice place, nice facilities, very clean, friendly staff... but seriously, if I'm paying $200+ a night to stay somewhere, I don't feel like I should have to PAY $20 A DAY to use their half-hearted attempt at a fitness center. It's a nice place, definetly feels like a resort and is close enough to the hot spots in San Diego that you can get out a bit. But unless money is not an option, I just don't feel like you get enough bang for your buck

Nice But Not Luxurious

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend and were satisfied, but not impressed, with the property. The room was spacious, clean, and had a nice private patio in the back. We ate at Barefoot Grill for breakfast and lunch, and although the food was good, it was pricey. The fitness center was $20 a day per person! It's hard to believe rooms are sold at such high rates and you have to dig further into your wallet to enjoy a quick workout. My husband said it best - for the few people that use the gym, if they increased the room rates by a dollar, they could cover gym costs and more. Overall, the stay was nice and we enjoyed ourselves, but it's unlikely we will return again if rates and extra charges are not lowered.

I was a little hesitant on staying here because the photos look so great. I thought they might be fooling the public to stay by these wonderful pictures, and at such a great price. The pictures are SO TRUE! What a fabulous hotel! We absolutely loved it! There are 2 restaurants on site, and also on the water. One is fine dining which is called Baleen, the other is called Barefoot Bar and Grill which is casual outdoor and indoor seating with a bar to have drinks at as well. My boyfriend and I were so impressed by this resort, you dont even have to leave. The ammenities there are wonderful. We are already planning are next trip back!

Rooms really need updated. Very musty smell! Overpriced for the condition of the motel.
