Musty and old!

Seriously, we walked into our room and was hit with a bad musty smell. When we called the front desk and told them about it, they sent over a staff member with a lemon spray bottle. She sprayed it around and took it when she left. We had the door open airing it out the musty smell for a few hours. Furniture looked like it came from a garage sale, lamp shade was stained and had a hole in it, "entertainment center" had the cabinet doors taken off but hinges were left there and just painted over, plywood was hanging off the back by exposed nails. Water was scalding hot and a real safety hazard. Room was painted a hideous yellow , there was a hole in the wall behind the door from the door being slammed open, bathtub was rusty and old.We asked to change rooms but the second one was worse so we ended up back in our original room. To add insult to injury, we were charged a whopping $22 a night to drive ourselves and park in the spot assigned to our room. We only stayed there one of the three nights we were scheduled and moved to The Dana which was much nicer. The grounds are nice, the restaurant good but very expensive. Love the bungalow style of room and once they renovate the rooms, they will have a goldmine.

Like several of the other reviewers, I had a horrible experience with the management. After contracting for a wedding, they decided 6 months later (and only 90 days before the wedding) they didn't want to provide what they contracted for. There was no provision in the agreement for them to do this. They were trying to book multiple weddings on the same day and we had taken too much of the facility to allow for a second wedding, so they decided to just cut ours back. We canceled the whole thing and will never do business with them again.
Awesome Stay!

Paradise Point rocks!. My wife and I had the most relaxing visit last weekend. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food at Barefoot Bar and grill was very good. Breakfast as well as Dinner. We used the Marina and rented a boat and the employee there was very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know to run our vessel. The weather was great and we really took advantage of it. The resort is very well situated and we were minutes from Gaslamp district, Pacific Beach and Old Town. A quick cab ride to each and we were there. No need to drive anywhere. Oh yeah Sea Worl is right down the street. Any complaints, not a one, maybe my only complaint is we could'nt stay longer.
Great Place for the family.

Wow there were so many mixed reviews on this place I have to admit I was a biit worried after I booked it, but the minute you are at thie hotel grounds I realized I had picked the right place, I felt like I was in paradise, the island grounds were spectacular and they have lots of walking trails and places to walk on the beach. We did have a room facing the beach, so I cant comment on other rooms. THe view was beautiful, from the room and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful to show you in person how to find your room. Yes, the rooms are older, but the king size bed was clean and comfortable. The room had a couch and a coffee table in it along with a table for writing. The bathroom was large but I can say my husband and I both agreed the shower was need an updating- they have a plastic handheld thats it. my husband had to lower himself to be under it and hes only 5'11 the room was clean, older style, but we loved how private and quiet it was. We only occasionally heard a door close . We never heard the beighbors talking or any other noises. THey have many pools and hot tubs within the property- even ones for adults only. You wont be sorry you stayed here unless you are super picky. Gym was 12.00 a use -too much Ouch! The food was a bit overpriced, but service was good, and its along the waterfront and a nice waterfall and beautiful pond with huge fish in it. You can rent boats and bikes at the property. Its a bit of a walk to seaworld so we drove, but parking at seaworld was 12.00
Very nice, Great location, but be ready to walk

This hotel is a very nice getaway location... You do almost feel like you were on an island, but still very close to the city... There is alot of walking though... The rooms are all on the ground floor , so to get to the lobby, pools, restaurants, etc. you have a fairly long walk depending on where your room is... Front desk was very helpful.. Nice restaurant for breakfast... You can however tell the hotel is older, but still very nice...
