For classic Chicago ambiance and old-fashioned splendor, look no further than Bill Clinton's favorite address whenever he is in town.
Since 1920, the world-famous Magnificent Mile hotel has an elegance that new hotels find hard to duplicate. From the wainscoting in the wide hallways to the mail chutes and classic elevator doors on each floor, there are vintage delights everywhere, especially in the ornate lobby. Lounge lovers will enjoy the clubby, intimate Coq d'Or, where pianist Buddy Charles entertained guests for more than 50 years until his retirement in 2001.
For all its historic splendor, the Drake offers all the amenities that guests have come to expect in a premium modern hotel, such as mini-bars, modem lines, bathrobes and complimentary newspapers. Its 537 rooms are large and luxurious and contain separate seating areas and foyers.
