Excellent Alternative to a Disney Hotel

We just took our family to Disneyland and stayed at this hotel. We booked two rooms online ahead of time, requesting that they were adjoining and Disney facing so we could see the fireworks. When we arrived, the hotel was busy (just before 4th of July) but we got what we asked for. One of the rooms had a significantly better view of the fireworks than our room because of a large tree that was blocking the other. However, the rooms were clean, comfy, had a micro and small fridge as well as a safe. The beds were incredibly soft. The walk from our room to the maingates at the park was around 8 minutes with 4 kids under the age of 6, so that seemed very reasonable to me. The kids loved Pirates Cove - and after a long day walking around the park, the hot tub for the adults within view of the kids area was just awesome. I would recommend to anyone visiting to take a trip down to the hot tub to watch the fireworks one night - it was absolutely lovely. Only two things didn't go quite right... 1) the remote controls for the televisions did not work very well in either room which was very mildly annoying. 2) when I did try to complete the check out process through the TV in our room, the price they reflected per night was different than I had received on my confirmation. I went down to the Front Desk and they quickly fixed it for me, but it did leave me wondering what I would have been stuck with if I hadn't brought the full printout - and had maybe only brought the confirmation.

This is a pretty nice hotel. Love the pirate pool, worth staying if you have kids. Family friendly. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were pretty good. They weren't friendly, like I would expect, but they weren't rude either. However, the ART people, and cab drivers all complained that they are very rude to them, and give guests bad info. I did slip and fall by the fountain (watch out for when it gets wet), and when I told a front desk employee I was met with a disconnected response. I was asked if I was ok, then interrupted as I was explaining and asked if I wanted to fill out an incident report. I wasn't looking to be babied, but a response with some kind of warmth to it would have been nice. The game room is great, and they do have a change machine. The gift shop is great, they have all you need that you may have forgotten, and tons of snacks and drinks. The ladies there are very nice. However there is no ATM. That was a bother. The maids are very nice, and left tons of coffee for me when I asked, as I'm a huge coffee drinker. Mimi's across the street has excellent food, and excellent service! We ate there often and loved it. My daughter said we have to see if there is one in our home state. The internet in the room is truly FREE! It says so in the book, and I called to double check. Stayed in too many hotels where some of it is free, but there are exceptions when it's not and you get a surprise bill when you check out. The pools were also very clean, and well maintained, along with the grounds.
This place is great!

We love the HoJo! We go to Disneyland about every 5 months and HoJo is always where we stay. It is pretty much the same distance walking from the HoJo as it is from the DisneyLand Hotel walking through Downtown Disney. The rooms are in great condition, the front desk and housekeeping service is terrific (one day they accidently missed our room and I called and someone was there within minutes). They have everything you need to make your stay convenient and comfortable. The Pirates Cove water area was a great place to take a day off the parks and relax. I definately recomend this hotel and we are returning in August for 8 nights of fun and comfort. I'm thankful there is a such a great hotel in a very nice area of Anaheim that my husband and I can take our kids.
