Sheraton Bay Hotel/ Multiple problems

This post regards the Sheraton Bay Hotel, NOT the Sheraton Marina, although the two are affiliated.
We reserved a block of rooms for 2 nights for people attending my son's wedding, including bride and groom and families of both.. When we got there, we found that most rooms had been given away, and we were told that the hotel was "full and no rooms were available. Sorry. We can put you in a room down the street " A few rooms were found, scattered all over. The groom had checked into his room earlier in the day, and while at the rehearsal dinner his things (tux, etc.) had been REMOVED FROM HIS ROOM and held at the bell desk, his room given away. Eventually, thanks to his "persuasive" mother's conversation with the manager, empty rooms miraculously appeared. The hotel seemed to realize their mistakes. Rooms and parking were comped for one night. So eventually they made things right, but getting there was a nightmare.
The point is, reservations were made months in advance for rooms all together which were ignored. Also, I noticed that the "Special Rate" we were given for the advance reservations and block of rooms are the same rates available on some on-line sites, while our party had contacted the hotel directly.
I saw a couple there planning their wedding reception, and I have to admit, I told them of our problems.

I loved the location and decor of this hotel. Great views on all sides, over looking the marina or bay! The nautical decor was great. The staff was great and helpful on my arrival....who also was very nice and spoke some Portuguese with me. A great experience. Also the free shuttle to and from the airport made the trip very easy.

Our family (two kids age 2 and 5) came to San Diego not knowing our way around but the hotel location near the airport was great as a point of reference to and from nearly anywhere. We liked seeing the boats so close. The pool was fun for the kids, although we would liked a little more shallow water. The room was quiet and comfortable. Parking was a bit of a hassle (they really want you to pay the extra $8 a day to use their vallet service), and sometimes towels were hard to find around the pool. Location and room comfort really sold us on this place - we plan to come back.
Great setting with easy access to bay area.

The hotel is located in a very scenic setting with views of the bay or the marina which were very nice from the upper floors. Checking in and parking were easy and non eventful. The room was larger than most and clean and well kept. When I made the reservation I was concerned about possible noise from the airport, since the hotel is quite close, but didn't even notice planes taking off. Overall, I would say the hotel was above average but not spectacular, and would recommend it to others.
A decent 'Airport hotel', nice views

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip, it was good. The location next to the airport made it very convenient, and for a 'airport hotel' I was pleasantly surprised. The room was fairly standard but had a nice little balcony overlooking the Marina and Harbor Island. The bathroom acceptable, not great - not good ventilation and a little mold.
The real surprise is the amenities - the pool is resort-like, it is very large and has a waterfall feature and you can rent pool floats (nice if you were traveling with children). The fitness room was very large and had a number of machines, all in good condition. There are also tennis courts and a nice walking area between hotel towers. Every member of the staff that I interacted with was friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
The hotel food was not bad but like many hotels, overpriced. There is a nice hotel bar and a coffee shop as well, and a nice loggia by the pool that serves lunch and drinks.
The two real negatives were internet was not included - it cost $12 a day. Internet speed was also slow. I found this to be a huge negative for business travel. Parking is also expensive - $20 a day. Given that, I didn't find the hotel to be an amazing value as other hotels in the area included those in their rate.
But for a quick trip in town, the airport location was nice and I would stay again.
