Excellent Place - Compares well w/ far more expensive places.

Superb value. I like the Ritz and other top hotels, but this place is such a great value. Smaller, and not a great gym, but the location is wonderful, my room was dead quiet, the staff is very friendly, the room service and restaurant are excellent, and I like that it's dog-friendly.

A treat from start to finish!

We loved everything about this hotel. The location was ideal--a block from Dupont Circle, with its lively shops, restaurants and street scene, and a 20-minute walk to Georgetown over the P Street Bridge. Our room was huge and decorated with whimsical touches--leopard print throws and hot pink bolsters! Our two daughters, ages 5 and 3, were in heaven. The flat screen TV and leopard print bathrobes were additional treats, as were the L'Occitane bath products in the bathroom. and the kiddie gift bags. The hotel's greatest asset, though, is the staff. Everyone, from the bellhops to the concierge to the housekeeping staff, went out of their way to be kind-- real plus when you're traveling with tired, overstimulated children. When our 5-year-old was feeling cranky one morning and one of the bellhops saw her crying in the lobby, he reappeared a moment later with two tiny dolls for her to keep. The Palomar feels luxurious, but the vibe is very casual, unpretentious and family-friendly. We will definitely return.

Great location; lovely furnishings; excellent room amenities; warm, helpful staff; coffee in morning and wine in evening are nice touches. Room was small as noted by staff at check in; poor water pressure in shower; more variety in snacks during complementary cocktail hour would be appreciated.

Tiny rooms

The hotel was very chic and well located but the attitude of the front desk and lobby personell was very aloof and snobbish. The room we were given were not large as described in the overview, but so small as to be a problem for two people to navigate. The chair had to be moved every time we wanted to get around the bed and the drawers of the chest hit the foot of the bed before they could open all the way. When we asked for a room as advertised, we were told that would be another $40.00 plus tax per nite. We were told by the doorman later that the hotel was 70% empty. No wonder!
