Scared to Let My Children Stay There

I'd stayed at Super 8's before and they were fine. This place wasn't that cheap, so I assumed it'd still be ok. The lobby was scary at night, with all my info laying on the counter for all to see BEFORE I even walked in and the guy was behind bullet proof glass! The side door into the building wasn't locked and the glass on it was broken. The room we were in was dirty and sticky. I was scared to touch the sheets because they looked like they had never been washed, so I had my kids sleep on stuff we brought with us. I stayed up all night because I wasn't comfortable sleeping in that place. I left as soon as I could in the morning. If I was by myself I might have been ok, but I feel horrible that I put my kids into a place that was so gross and seemed unsafe.

First the receptionist argued with me about my service dog not being allowed. Once that was straightened out we were first given a room with no beds just frames. When we went down to tell the front desk that we had no beds I was told to wait. We were then given a smoking room that was sprayed with something that was not good on the lungs, couldn't stay there. Then when we finally got a room it was the handicap suite, with one bed. The front desk staff was not helpful and was not knowlegeable of how the electrical worked, Our room was filthy, and we had only one towel in the room when we went in.Our key had to be reprogrammed everyday we were there. Would never stay there again, woild rather sleep in my car.

Stay away

Stayed on the third floor and the people who own must live there. There were some very offensive cooking smells. The bed, sheets and pillow were terrible. Not sure if they had even been changed from the previous night. The tub and so forth were fine, but wouldn't you think they would at least spray some Windex on the mirror to clean it. Had brown streaks and spots on it. The breakfast was minimal but enjoyed visiting with the other guests during breakfast. That was the only thing that saved the stay. Have always liked Super 8 but after this not so sure I want to chance another one.

Very Basic Budget Value

Not the greatest even for a cheap hotel, but the room was fine. Only complaint was cont brkfast and coffee ran out before posted time. Price and convenient location make it acceptable, but other cheap hotels in vicinity are better.

Where did ice go?

I was happy to find a grocery store near the property within walking distance. I bought some snacks for the rest of my trip. Upon checking out, I needed just one container of ice for my 6-pack coke cooler. They turned off the ice machine after 1 A.M. Maybe they need to put a room card reader on the machine instead of blatantly treating guests in a negative manner!
