What a wonderful Inn! We loved our stay here. Barbara, the manager was so extremely helpful and the rooms are absolutely fantastic. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was gorgeous. The best part of the room I think was the wood floor, not only did it look beautiful, the room felt so much cleaner. On our last day here as we were walking to the beach, deer were casually walking past the Inn. Barbara said that was normal. It was very peaceful. Definitely will be coming back here. Thank you Sunset Inn & Barbara!

Found this hotel from the visitor's center while on our anniversary trip to the Monterey Bay. Fantastic room, with an upscale feel. The manager took care of our every need. The Tv was bigger than anything I've seen outside of Mandalay Bay in Vegas. The bathroom was to die for (my wife only picks out hotels based on bathroom pictures, the bathroom has to be immaculate) with beautiful tiles and stones. Only about a five minute walk from the beach. We could hear the ocean at night. I played golf next door at the PG golf course (poor man's pebble) which was put directly to our room bill, nice touch. Only complaint was that we were close to the garden fountain, so we could hear it at night. But we called desk and they came out and turned it off for us. Great customer service. We have found our new place when visiting the Monterey Bay
Nice Remodel

Looks like an old motel that had been completely remodeled. The room was very nicely done and furnished. Fireplace with flat screen TV above was very nice. Bathroom was all redone with beautiful tile and jacuzzi tub. Pedestal sink was a bit shallow, so some splashing occurred, and tub was very high, so take care getting in and out. Only real complaint was no storage at all--no dresser and no place to set anything in bathroom other than a couple of shallow shelves on wall. Parking was great---right by room, just like old time motels. A nice property and very clean, but will probably return to Gosby next visit; like to be in town and this inn is not within walking distance of Pacific Grove proper.
Great stay at Sunset Inn

My wife and I gave this little Inn a shot and weren't disappointed. The hotel has just been remodeled and the rooms were beautiful. We had a whirlpool room and the bathroom looked better than my own bathroom at my home! The location was perfect, a short walk from the beach. There is a golf course right next to the Inn that overlooks the water (an affordable alternative to pebble beach!). We loved the Sunset inn and will definitely be going back!

My wife and I have just returned from our honeymoon in California. While we spent most of our time in San Francisco and Napa Valley, we spent one night at the Sunset Inn as we were returning from a visit to Hearst Castle. The rooms which are all newly renovated were delightful. We did not have reservations but were able to secure a room with a spa, fireplace, and great furnishings. Staff was very accommodating, location was quiet and secure, and continental breakfast was very good. I think the workmen who were refurbishing several of the rooms waited until we were up to begin the noisy activities. We would definitely stay there again and were somewhat sad we could not spend another night. Close to everything and the Fishwife restaurant down the street recommended by the hotel was fantastic. We are still talking about the night we spent at the Sunset, and we spent 5 nights in San Francisco in a smaller room that was more expensive. You will remember your stay at the Sunset if you pass through the area and they have an available room.
