Doubt I would book a stay here again!

We booked this hotel based on the reviews that I had read. Most reviews were good and said it was clean and that it was being updated. I will be fair on this review and maybe they only had rooms that had not been updated left, but the 2 room options I was given I refused, requested a refund through online travel website and was given a full refund. I will say one thing they are accommodating like all the reviews said, however they lacked cleanliness and that is such a big turn off for myself. I personally do not want to sleep in a room where there is big stains on the mattresses and box springs. The room looked as though it not been cleaned for months as well as the second room. The bedspreads had burn holes in them, the smoke detector in the one room looked like it was broken or just missing the battery????, both rooms that was showed to us had holes in the bathroom doors and had duck tape covering them. I am sorry but if they are updating then the rooms that have not been updated should not be booked. I just will not take the chance here again unless I personally look at other rooms that have been updated. If all of the rooms look like the two that we looked at then I think the hotel should be shut down because of the filth, etc. I really wish that the reviews would have been more accurate because by booking this one trying to save money I ended up paying * more for the hotel I was going to originally book and decided that I would book this one and save *. I should have known better, you get what you pay for.
You definately get what you paid for!

Now don't get me wrong: The staff was extremely accomodating to my requests and the hotel itself was contrally located which made it easy to get around Tampa/Clearwater. Now, the breakfast was fairly sub-par; they had doughnuts, bagels, cold cereal, juice and coffee, but the room it was in was smaller than the guest rooms so we were left standing up most mornings, which is pretty hard with two little kids.
The bedrooms themselves were ok, but no better than ok. The beds were quite firm (not a bad thing), but they curved in the middle, so it took a lot of effort not to roll off the bed. My wife felt that the pillows were not actually pillows, but old bed sheets that were sewn into very flat, very hard rectangles. Bring your own if you can! Also, the previous occupant had left a drawer full of clothes behind and a wet towel hanging behind the door...housekeeping missed all this.
The pluses: You can save a lot of money staying here and there are a lot of restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

The building and rooms are well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is pleasant and easily accessed. They were kind enough to deliver a Sunday paper without my request, and they offered to help me choose a restaurant for dinner. I would say that this was one of the best experiences I have had in a motel. I give five stars since they are doing their very best with what they have as an economy operation.

i LIKED THE LOCATION OF OUR HOTEL. IT WAS CLOSE TO MANY RESTURANTS AND CLOSE TO MAJOR ROADS. IT WAS VERY AFFORDABLE AND THE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY.

I stay in Clearwater 4 nights a week because I commute each week to work in Tampa. Location is convenient to job and to resturants and other services. Motel is clean, friendly and well managed.
Rooms are clean and well kept. Motel is currently undergoing room remodeling and will be an even better value when completed.
There is an on-site laundry facility that comes in handy when I need to do a little wash.
Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable of the area and happy to address special requests like late check-out when my wife comes up with me and I go to work for the day.
Continental breakfast is basic but good coffee and lots of it to get you going in the morning.
I need an affordable place to stay and this motel fits the bill. This is a good place if you want a good clean room and a friendly smile at a very affordable rate.
