Great Place to Stay in Historic Wilmington, NC

Stemmermans was wonderful. We stayed in Suite 7, and were very happy. It's quiet, and very private. The rooms have beautiful exposed brick walls and are very comfortable. The location was ideal - the historic downtown area was right at the doorstep. Lovely restaurants, interesting little shops, galleries, and even nice little pubs are all within a couple blocks.
Be aware that Stemmermans Inn is on the second floor of the building. There are steps to climb and no elevator that I noticed. It didn't bother us at all, but it's something to be aware of.
Overall, it was fabulous, and I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
