We had a great time in Atlanta! We can down to visit our daughter and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Decatur. The staff was great! The location was convenient to some great shops, resturants and the Marta. We were able to go just 1 block from the hotel to catch the Marta and go right down down in about 10 to 15 mintues. I would stay there anytime! And would recommend this place to anyone.

The location was great. We were able to walk to many restaurants and the MARTA station which took us directly to Downtown Atlanta. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and took care of us.
Have to label it as "Not Bad"

Overall the hotel was pretty nice -- typical of an older hotel that has been renovated and kept up over time. I'd be willing to stay there again, and it would be a good place for a big function or conference of some kind.
The negatives:
The mattresses in our room were too mushy and soft and tended to lean towards one side or the other. The A/C unit in the room was VERY noisy. One good thing -- the card key to our room opened the lock the first time, every time. I've been in better hotels where you had to swipe repeatedly to get the door to unlock.
Parking costs extra, and don't even bother if you drive a truck, van, or SUV. The parking deck is very tight and difficult to maneuver around. The handicapped parking spaces were a joke -- even if you could fit a van into the space there's no room to open the doors once you're parked. The parking deck is underground so it's dark, smelly, and loud.
The food from the lobby restaurant was not very good and was overpriced given the poor quality. The service in the restaurant was only OK. This is offset by the great location of the hotel, which is within easy walking distance of a number of good restaurants and bars.

This place is still very good. Can't beat the location. For us it's close to family but also very convenient to things we like to do. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Only complaint is parking. Should be clear on the website that parking is extra. I've stayed there before so I knew this but if someone was coming for th first time it might be a shock.
