Pushy Sales People

Hotel was good, not bad of an area, however, do not travel by foot too far off the downtown area. There were quite a few homeless people, not beggars though. I would say that the people trying you to get timeshares were overly pushy and annoying. They hounded you on and off the hotel elevators, just tell them you are not staying there and they will leave you alone. Lesson learned on last day!

The hotel was top notch for the price. For $* a night - you couldn't ask for more! rooms were immaculate, spacious. Hotel is super clean and staff are helpful, courteous and professional in all areas. The pool area is great also, valet parking was top notch. Great hotel if you want to be close to the Fremont Experience. The only cons I had at this hotel was the Buffet upstairs didn't make all items available right up to closing. We arrived at 9:30 and closing was at 10 pm I think. Many items were empty and a lot of items you could tell were simply picked over. I guess if you visit the buffet well before closing the experience would be better. Also the Carson Street Cafe downstairs near the pool area was sub par. We dined there 3 times. 2 of 3 were bad experiences. One, the food was served cold and the other time they stopped serving "hot"items at midnight but the waitress failed to inform us. One of our party ordered spaghetti and meatballs. After the dish arrived, she asked for more spaghetti sauce, but the waitress advised her that the grill was closed and no more sauce was available....you gotta be kidding me? Any way other than those 2 incidents, a great hotel to stay at. I'd go back!

We have stayed at the Nugget the last 5 times we've gone to Vegas. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are nice, the beds comfy and service is good. Tip- The hairdryers are kept in the closet on the shelf along with extra pillows. The pool with the shark tank is awesome. Carson Street cafe has good food for a reasonable price and I love the Nugget's breakfast buffet. We have upgraded to the North tower once, and it is a little nicer but really the only big difference is the distance to walk to get to your room. We also did the VIP check in once, but it was really crowded and the fruit and cheese tray was empty so there really isn't any reason to use VIP check in. So, if you want a really nice hotel for a reasonable price, stay here!

My wife and I had a great time. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
The fitness center was an additional 20 bucks a day, which I would have liked to have known in advance, and the "activities" booth was a little pushy, but these few setbacks were quickly overcome with the extremely pleasant and helpful staff and our accomodations. Room was very clean and being able to walk out onto the "Fremont Street Experience" made our Golden Nugget stay memorable and enjoyable.
The Buffet is unbelievable and the pool is incredible.
Again, the good points far outweighed any bad things I could say.
I will definately return and stay at the Golden Nugget.

We stayed four nights at the Golden Nugget and LOVED it. We upgraded to the North Tower with a view of the mountains and Freemont Street. The bed was so very comfy and the flat screen was a plus. Check in and check out was a breeze. The two ladies at the Bell Desk were a little snooty but everyone else was great and friendly. The breakfast buffet was wonderful, the omlett station is fantastic. Also, visit at the Grotto resturant,. FYI - The slot machines are tight.
