I stayed 4th of July weekend. The hotel was clean. The only odd thing is that they didnt provide had soap. You know like from the diprenser. I thought that was odd. Good thing I came prepared. I must say Vic and Anthony's was the best meal ever!
The price for the hotel was excellent.

The hotel was wonderful. The room was clean, all things worked and all of the staff very friendly and helpful. One thing we thought was very helpful was the safe in the room. There was some construction while we were there, but it caused us no problems at all. We ate once at every resturant in hotel and food was wonderful at each. I do not think there is a better place to stay downtown. Really enjoyed visit and will return.

The Golden Nugget is the best Hotel to Stay at downtown. The room was great, and the buffett was good to excellent. The pool looks like alot of fun for the kids, and i may bring them back for that alone. The nugget, and freemont street are a good combination for a fun weekend
Enjoyed our stay overall

As previous review said, they have timeshare salespeople right outside the elevator and the main door so you walk by them multiple times per day. Very, very pushy as they will stand in the walkway and step toward you to get your attention.
I wasn't 100% sold on it being a 4 star but did enjoy the stay overall. The room had an awful, very strong air freshener; one that made me worry about what they were trying to cover up. Thought it was just our room but later in week saw ppl ckg in across the hall and complaining to the bellman about same thing and they left. We found a little disk in the air conditioner vent so once we took it out was much better, but otherwise I would have probably left! The beds were slightly saggy. We definitely could tell where ppl usually slept but I didn't have issues sleeping. Other than that the room was nice, actually had a real hairdryer and robe! Pool was fantastic, very fun. Shark tank is unique. They keep the hot-tub and poolside bar open later and light up the shark tank at night. Had a firepit to sit around, great ambiance. The Grand Buffet for breakfast was fabulous (lunch didn't look quite as good) and reasonable. The location of this hotel is also great because it's part of the Fremont Experience where they have this music/light show in the street out front at night where everyone parties (the road is closed off to cars right in front). We enjoyed having a car to drive to the strip though. Area directly around the hotel is fine but agree with others that a block or 2 away it starts to get shady but we felt safe if we didn't go far.
