I booked two rooms in Bend, OR over Memorial Day weekend and since everything "acceptable" was book solid Super 8 was my last resort.
My first unpleasant experience with the hotel, that should have been a tell tale sign, was when I called in and cancel one of the two rooms reserved. Not only was the lady extremely RUDE, she actually HUNG up on me in midsentence! In end, it turns out after cancelling the second room and now looking at my bank statement, I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR TWO ROOMS!
We got to the hotel after being lost for an hour and after multiple attempts to get directions from the hotel all we got was "we're off of Market Reed and 3rd"...what help that was! When we finally found the darn place, I checked-in and we went up to our room only to find that the room HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED since the last visitors! It was pretty disgusting that they'd give out a room and not even know if it had been cleaned! After we had unveiled our surprise findings, I went down to the lobby, asked the clerk " we need another room, ours IS dirty" and the lady looked at me with clueless gaze and asked "What do you mean by dirty?", to my disbelief at this point I actually had to go into detail and let her know that "bed linens had not been changed, clean towels were not in place, and garbage everywhere AKA DIRTY"...only THEN did she assign us another room! Even then she didn't COMP US! How ridiculous!
It's safe to say, I WILL NEVER STAY AT A SUPER 8 again.
