Lowe's Annapolis Hotel

The Hotel is beautiful. The rooms are very modern and clean with large bathrooms. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant had great food. It is the perfect location at the top of the hill, the walk into town is easy and quick with lots of places to stop and shop or to have a quick bite. We have gone to Annapolis before and stayed outside of town, but for the extra charge it was worth it to park our car and walk everywhere during our stay. Be sure to check out the Mexican restaurant El Toro and Stans, Ramshead, and other local favorites. Stear clear of Buddy's, better seafood at other restaurants. Enjoy!

Impolite staff, baby unfriendly, greedy with parking

I came to the hotel for a business meeting with my wife and a one-and-half year old baby. For the meeting purpose, it's good -- great conference room, friendly staff, very good food and refreshment, good wireless connection (at least to the 3rd floor). Unfortunately, it stops here. We had three bad experiences. The first night when we arrived, it was 10:00pm. I asked a young man at the front desk for direction of restaurants. He pointed to the sports bar in the hotel and said "The sports bar one is open." I hesitated because my wife doesn't enjoy food from sports bar, so I asked what kind of food it served. I got an answer "You can ask them for a menu". I was surprised, and finally asked if any other restaurant nearby is open. He pointed to the sports bar again and said "That one is open." Being tired, I went to the sports bar for take-out food. The gentleman there was polite and patient for me to study their menu, but my wife really didn't enjoy the food after all. The next day I called the front desk for a high chair. I was transferred several times and finally someone called back and said he would search for a high chair and take it to the room. It never happened. Fortunately, my child loved the room and was willing to seat herself on the sofa quietly for a time long enough for feeding. When I checked out, there seemed an error in the bill: I was billed with valet parking ($20 per night). We used self parking for convenience not for the cost (it's a business travel), BTW. The front desk's answer: Self parking and valet parking are the same price! First time I heard that.

A great hotel, had a very bad experience getting something to eat! The hotel was not staffed to accomidate its guests for dinner. The average wait for just a berger was 1.5 hours. When we complained to the dinning room manager his response was "you must be from New York" ! No you, I'm just a customer staying at a top notch hotel paying a premium rate and expecting the same in service! I have stayed in other Lowes Hotels and they are great, this one just has a poor food manager.
