This Hotel is fantastic. Large rooms, nice staff, excellent breakfast with made to order omelets, room rate comparable to other motels/hotels in the area. The one bed's mattress was very hard and the sheets were like sandpaper, however the other bed was fine. Only negative is signs for finding the hotel should be lighted so you can see them at night time.
Romantic

My fiance and I stayed here for a weekend while visiting our families in Eau Claire. We stayed in the 'Paris Suite', which is advertised as their romantic getaway suite, basically. It was a very nice suite, and quite romantic, actually. I expected it to be cheesy, and to an extent it was, but then again, isn't all romance at least a little cheesy? The rooms were very quiet, too; almost too quiet. I stay in hotels a lot, and you really get used to the typical hotel noises; people moving around in the hall, the heating/air conditioning, sounds of traffic, etc. But there was none of that here. You could occasionally hear some noises in the hall, and sometimes you could catch the air conditioning (very quitely) turning on, but that was it. I enjoyed it immensely!
Annoying Construction

The rooms were really very nice, quite unexpected at such a low price per night. Others have commented on there being construction next door, and it was kind of obnoxious (rather loud, and not something you really want to look at all the time), but the waterpark sounds neat, so it's probably worth it.

Our stay was good, nothing special really. We did enjoy the huge television (much bigger than the one at home!), and the kids had fun with iPOD alarm clock. Overall, I think what I was pleased the most with was simply that every amenity listed on their site was actually included in the room. Most places we've stayed at listed quite a few amenities that were 'no longer available' when we inquired about them at the desk. Maybe it's because they just opened, so all their amenity lists are still up to date, but I was still pleased with it.
Definitely Not Bad

I travel a lot for business, and I've seen some really bad hotels. I've also seen some really nice ones, and the Metropolis lands in the 'really nice' category. They're targeting it at a business clientelle, and at that, they succeed marvelously. I'd heard complaints that they're still finishing construction, and that there's a basically an over-sized play-place next door, but I didn't even notice, honestly.
