Very nice hotel and close to Chinatown and old port

Stayed at Hyatt Regency for 2 nights and the stay was great. Had a little of trouble finding the "entrance" of the hotel and then had to go through the food court. Doing that at night when all the stores were closed is scary. The hotel is very clean and the bed and pillow were very comfortable. Had good channels on TV. The staff were extremely nice and helpful -- especially this guy X-- very helpful and made lots of good recommendations. The reception/check in staff are more helpful than the so-called concierge though. There's no sign that says it's the concierge, you just sort of guess . . . The location is great. Very close to Chinatown and Old Port but without being in the middle of it. Had a starbucks and Dairy Queen right outside the hotel. The mall below the hotel has a convenience store and a food court. There's also at least two restaurants attached as well. One of the restaurants open late so you don't have to go hungry after a long day out. At Place Des Arts metro station is connected underground so convenient but it's quite a walk. But that's typical in Montreal. I would definitely stay at this hotel again in my future Montreal visits.

Don't book this hotel

The room is dark dingy and not worth the money. Even though it's a hyatt, you feel more like you're staying at the Holiday Inn. The lamps, floors, walls are completely outdated. The location is pretty central, but there are plenty of other options out there. I went for a romantic weekend and for my babymoon, but I didn't feel very pampered at all. However, the maid service and the staff desk (with the exception of the males) was adequate.

Not as nice as I thought

The hotel was decent, but you can tell it is aging and in need of an upgrade. The rooms and hallways were dark and the bathrooms looked a bit rundown. The staff was nice and helpful though. Lots of places to eat downstairs in the mall food court. We ran out of towels and toilet paper everyday and had to ask for more each time, but they were prompt about it.

Not happy

Great Hotel from the outside but, Bathroom had a lot of mould. Toilet paper almost empty. Not exactly what you expect for a Hyatt......Would consider going back. Pillows not very comfortable woke up with a sore neck.

Holiday Weekend Getaway

Spent the Thanksgiving weekend in Montreal. The Hyatt is one of my favorite hotels because of location. it is right upstairs from a good mall with a IGA grocery store where you can stock up. It is close the the arts center and Chinatown. and has good restuarants near the hotel. For me the location is the prime reason i like the hotel. The hotel itself is not outstanding. the rooms are standard. the elevators are a bit slow. but for the money, it is a good place. It needs to place back into the rooms the minibars.
