Description: Our board meeting was held here, with many traveling in from other parts of the state. The hotel is very nice, seemingly newer than many other hotels of the same class in Madison. The property itself is well maintained and inside, very clean and spacious. Free in-room WiFi and a very large indoor swimming pool are nice features.
They have a limited hours bar, Duffy's Pub, where guest can buy an adult beverage before retiring to bed. They also have freshly popped popcorn for those who enjoy a salty taste sensation with their beer, soft drink or cocktail. In the morning, this is also where they serve their complimentary hot breakfast that includes eggs, sausage and breads for toasting, plus bagels. Juice, milk, coffee and tea are also available.
As for the sleeping rooms, they are all suite style accommodations. My room had a very comfortable king sized bed along with the standard sofa sitting area. The mini-frig and microwave, along with the in-room coffee maker makes this the perfect location for families . . . especially those in town for sports events.
I found the bathroom to be well light, clean and with nice toiletries. I especially enjoy any shower that has the arched curtain rod and a good water pressure. This bathroom had it all.
Rack rate for this hotel runs in the $109-$159 range depending on the events in the area. It wouldn't suprise me if they go a bit higher during high peak traffic periods (like the WIAA State basketball or hockey championships).
They also have a nice (but small) meeting room. We found it perfect for our 20+ member board meeting. It was especially nice with the natural lighting through the large windows on three sides of the room. Our group also provided a light continental breakfast for our attendees. Included were yogurts, fresh fruits (oranges, grapefruit and bananas) bagels w/ cream cheese and mini muffins. Like the free breakfast in Duffy's, we also had an assortment of juices, coffee and tea, plus soft drinks.
As the meeting planner for our event, I found the pre-meeting efforts to be good and the on-site assistance equally attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel location for any group looking for a nice room for a board/group meeting or training session.
Their location is on the west side of Madison, right at the city line with Middleton. This makes it very convenient to the wonderful dining and shopping in the Greenway Station.
