An Exceptional Hotel for a Reasonable Price !!!!!

I was on Family Bussiness in Monterey Ca for 3 days , April 14 - 17th. This Hotel is Top Notch , The Free Deluxe Breakfeast in the Morning is Amazing !!!!! Ive stayed at MANY hotels before and this hotel has offered the BEST Breakfeast ! The make your own Waffles station is Fun and Easy too ! My room was Clean and The Maid service was Excellent ! The Staff is VERY Friendly and Helpful ! They called my room during my stay to make sure I was comfortable and asked If there was anything I needed. This is my 2nd time at this Hotel , The first time was with my Family and We were all Very Satisfied. A nice Child Friendly hotel and The Heated pool was lovely ! This hotel is in a Safe and Convenient location to all attractions and right across the rd from the Del monte mall. I loved my stay and will be sure to choose this hotel again for my other trips to the monterey bay area.
This motel needs to be renovated!

Check in staff not very knowledgeable (we wanted to have room for Sunday 1/2 day to clean up after marathon), he booked for full day - motel gave us room (we were out by noon), so that was a plus.
Motel did not accommodate marathon folks - breakfast could have been out earlier, so we did not have to run somehwhere around town to find a light meal.
Bathroom old, shower staff needed some cleaning. Towels a bit worn. room very noisey - it is just an old motel than needs to either be torn down, or completely remodelled!

The grounds and appearance are nice. Now for the downside: Not enough electrical outlets in the room. In fact, there was only ONE available in the bedroom area. Door reader didn't work. I had to have magnetic key reset FOUR times. Breakfast was mediocre - no fresh fruit or cheese. Waffles were the high-end offering.
Otherwise nice place.

I was the last person to check in that evening and the room they gave me seemed like a storage room that was turned into a motel room. The walls were cinderblocks painted off-white, it was right on the street, not with the other rooms. The room had cups for coffee, but no coffee maker, no microwave or minifridge like the reservation said and no wireless internet - also promised in the reservation. The safe in the room did not work either. And to top it off we only got about 10 minutes of hot water. Ice cold showers are NO FUN! I complained to the reception that the room was not meeting my expectations. They did provide me with a coffee maker and gave me a 20% discount for one night but I still felt pretty ripped off and misled.

The bed was wonderfully comfortable but the room was quite small, very basic, large bathroom but no bathtub and unenclosed shower. Staff was not overly friendly, when a lady asked for more milk at the breakfast counter, the staff member simply replied that she was aware there was no milk. Great location for shopping, located across from the mall and movie theater, overall not a bad stay.
