Noisy and Dirty

I have stayed here often, so my comments are not from a single experience. This hotel tends to attract a lot of High School and College teams (baseball teams, basketball teams, etc.). It is not the fault of the kids, but they are loud. You can hear a whispers (not to mention yelling, doors slamming, and running) in the hallway and the walls are paper-thin. You can hear the high-powered toilets flush from two floors away. Even without kids, the place is always noisy! The bathroom doors (plural) do not latch or lock. If you are sharing a room, it is an uncomfortable experience. Also, this hotel has a chronic problem with cleanliness. Hallways and stairwells (and occassionally guest rooms) are not vacuumed. For my mental well-being, I assume that the sheets and towels are clean. Other than that, there is a general lack of attention to the guest rooms. At 6pm last week, the tables in the lobby were still sticky from that day's continental breakfast. When the hotel is clean, the furnishings and decor are nice.

Excellent!

This hotel exceeded our expectations by far. The room was cozy and well laid out - the furnishings, linens, and floor surfaces added a touch of class. My husband fell in love with the big screen HDTV mounted on the wall! We both found the bed to be the most comfortable we'd found in a hotel in the sub-$100/night range. The room was spotless - even in the bathroom. The limited interaction we had with the staff was quite pleasant, and the hotel is in a very nice area - important when you're staying in a city like Memphis. Will definitely stay again!

Good Experience

I had a nice stay. Check-in and check-out were very simple. I never had any problems for which I had to seek help from the staff. Room was clean and comfortable, probably recently remodeled (in the last five years or so). Continental breakfast was typical--muffins, cereal, bagels, very little fruit. My biggest issue was that the motel was located about twenty minutes away from most of the tourist sites (e.g. Graceland, Beale Street, the River). Otherwise it seemed to be a good neighborhood; I didn't feel unsafe at any time.

Nice clean room. Safe area of Memphis. Close to where you want to be.

Great Visit Minus the Renovations

All in all this was exactly what we were looking for, especially since it was Music Fest wekend and the hotels downtown were either booked or REALLY expensive. Only minus was they are in the middle of renovating and there was some noise Monday AM. It was after 8 AM but if you are on vacation, that is still early!
