Love it

This place is great. The condos here are about 1200sq ft, bigger than my first apartment. This is a great place for families with a separate kiddie pool, playground, and clubhouse. Fantastic location that is close to town and sightseeing. Highly recommended.

"Beautiful surroundings, very comfortable units"

Our one bedroom unit was so new it had that "new car" smell when we walked in. Nicely equipped with everything you'd need for a great get away. There's a bbq on the patio that looks like it's never even been used. TV gets more stations then we get at home, the flip switch fireplace provides nice ambience and the king size bed was very comfortable. The pool and hot tub are very large and well maintained. The view of the golf courses were just amazing. Stay here if you can get a reasonable rate - it's worth it!!!

We have stayed at this resort many times and always look forward to it. We have taken friends and family there and everyone loves it. The staff is great and the grounds are terrific. No complaints at all. We always know when we go here we are in good hands.

World Mark Resort at Angel's Camp

Best Things Nearby:
Greenhorn Creek Golf course, Saddle Creek golf course, many wineries, cute, quaint towns, scenic historic sites, several lakes, and, of course, Lake Tahoe is only a couple of hours drive.

Best Things About the Resort:
Our unit was spacious. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Two bedrooms downstairs with one full bath and full-sized Murphy bed in living room and master suite upstairs with little outside balcony. Huge balcony off LR with nice gas bar-b-que. We had fabulous view of golf course and mountains. Having been long-time timeshare people, the only drawbacks I saw were the kitchen utensils -- pots, pans, etc. were a little more skimpy than we have had before, but we certainly could make do! However, they DO provide spices, salt and pepper, liquid dish soap and laundry soap, plenty of paper towels, and dish sponges which many resorts do not provide. They also have your first pot of coffee necessities.

Resort Experience:
The front desk staff was VERY friendly and helpful. They are staffed 24-7 which makes it nice.

It is a little off the beaten path, but if you want to explore the Gold Country, taste some GREAT wines, play some great golf courses, and have a nice relaxing visit, you'll love it.

You absolutely MUST have a car. There are not a lot of fancy or great fine dining establishments, but there are many nice quaint places with great food.

Within a 25-mile radius are several historic sites, lakes, and cute little towns to explore.

Best Things Nearby:
Angels Camp's quaint downtown; nearby wineries and towns; Yosemite (1.5 hours); Sacramento (1 hour); Lake Tahoe (2.5 hours); Big Trees State Park (30 minutes); the Sierras (1 hour); San Francisco (2 hours); and Big Sur (2 hours).

Best Things About the Resort:
This lovely two-bedroom apartment overlooks the golden hills and small mountains of northern California wine country.

Plan to spend at least one day sitting out on the deck reading . . . it's heaven. There are plenty of things to do nearby . . . lots of exploring!

Resort Experience:
We didn't know what to expect . . . but we took a chance, and it paid off! The accommodations were lovely, and the former gold-mining town of Angel's Camp is distinctively Western, in both the rustic and historic sense, much as Mark Twain spotlighted it in one of his books.

There's a "Mark Twain" frog statue downtown . . . and they even have a Frog Festival there. Every curve of the roads and highways leading in and out of town offers something refreshing and new. The wineries are abundant, as are a host of nearby historic towns. The trees of Big Trees State Park, only 30-minutes east, rival the trees of Yosemite . . . and there are beautiful, short hikes with good photo ops.

Further east, the highway climbs the breathtaking Sierras. We drove over them, returning on a different highway from the other side--amazing!

Yosemite, home of the late-Ansel Adams, was everything we dreamed it would be and more.

Lake Tahoe, if you haven't seen it, is like no place on earth . . . lapping blue water with mountains beyond. We drove around the entire lake, stopping in lakeside towns for meals and shopping. If you gamble, Stateline, Nevada, is a fun place to stop.

Sacramento has an Old Town section that should not be missed; we flew into Sacramento, and added an extra day for sightseeing. The State capital is beautiful, too.

We spent three days in San Francisco (you must see this city!), then drove along the California coast to Big Sur en-route to Angels Camp. It was a little out of the way, but an unforgettable drive. The weather in June is ideal . . . there's little, if any, rain and moderate temperatures. Bring a jacket for higher elevations.

If possible, take the highway east across the entire width of Yosemite and into Nevada . . . then drive north to another highway that leads west back across the Sierras into California. There are towns along the way with nice restaurants and shops . . . and, of course, spectacular views.
