The Fairmont has a great view of the Orpheus Theater across the street. The building had pictures with drama, comedy, tragedy, and other things.
I was a bit disappointed I didn't get a room that looked out onto the view late at night. My room had a great sight of - a parking lot. It was really spacious, with a closet, window, two bedrooms, and a TV. There was also a WHERE magazine on the bed table that has daily events of what's going on.
I was staying on a Krewe discount that just happened to be hosting its ball there. There was also a school's night in the halls on the lobby's floor. There are elevators and moving stairs near the beautiful carnival paintings between sofas and capitols.
Towards the back of the long hall was a restaurant. The breakfast is cheap, but lunch and dinner are more expensive. A gift shop is near the back doors, which leads down a street. By moving up the street, you'll find yourself on busy Canal Street and near a Walgreens.
