Not a holiday stop

Unlike the hotel web page, the rooms were dark, carpets dirty and sofa so soiled we couldn't sit on it. Fan didn't work in bathroom so room became hot and humid. Reception was "too busy" to call a cab and even told us to call ourselves. Food was not good, coffee weak, messy dining area. Wireless connection did not work and there were only two public computers for the entire hotel. Service was very disappointing. Without a car, it is very costly to get on and off the island. You have to go into Portland or Vancouver for decent food or attractions. The beds were nice; there were cookies and fruit in the lobby; evening drinks were nice but the food area was also very dark and no view. It was disappointing for a vacation spot but maybe OK as a business stop over, if you don't need Internet.
