Beautiful Location

What a beautiful spot for this hotel. Comfortable room with two queens - very clean and well kept up. The grounds were spotless and they have a pool and hottub under the "Zion-like" sandstone cliffs towering above. It was great to soak my trail weary legs in the tub and share stories with my fellow Zion visitors. The restaurant was very good - although pricey for breakfast and the sports bar was good for dinner (both smoke free). It would have earned a perfect score had there been a free breakfast - other than that - no complaints.

We stayed here the first week in April 2009 to visit Zion National Park. After a long travel day the pool and hot tub were wonderful and nicely heated since the weather was still fairly cool. The hotel is very well maintained and was very clean. Our room was nice and it was quiet. The food at the Switchback restaurant on site is very good but a little fancy and pricey for a family. Our room rate was very reasonable and we will definitely stay here again.

THIS PLACE STINKS (LITERALLY)

Stayed here in the winter when it is very quite and beautiful. Zion in the winter has no crowds and the park is quiet and wonderful, but this hotel/motel stinks. In the winter the sewer backs up and the halls and rooms smell of sewage. The management says it is the city fault, not theirs, however no other hotel in the area had the problem. In addition, I made a reservation for december, but when I arrived they had no reservation for me, but they had a room anyway. Upon getting home I found that they charged my credit card for a non show in november (the exact day I was to show, just the wrong month). I asked for a credit to my account and they absolutely not. I showed them the mistake they made, but they said no. Contacted corporate and they just refered me back to the hotel!!! Again the management said no. My advise there are better places... Try desert pearl inn or flannagans. Not this place

One Night in Utah

I was pleasantly surprised with the Zion Park area and would definitely visit this area again. As for the Best Western, it was a very nice hotel with a lovely porch in the back of the building with rocking chairs. In addition, each floor had an outside sitting area (deck) and this Best Western has a cozy lodge feel because of it's sitting area near the registration counter. The only aspect of this Best Western that was a disappointment is the fact that they do not provide a continental breakfast, which is typical (and expected) of all of the Best Westerns that I've stayed at. When I asked about breakfast, I was directed to the restaurant next door. My party and I took a short walk over and enjoyed a buffet breakfast that included freshly made pancakes, omelets, bacon, etc. Overall, it was a positive experience and I would stay at this location again.

The basic room amenities were nice, but we were surprised at what they lacked. I would suggest adding a small microwave, maybe even a small fridge and at least a DVD player in each of the rooms. Other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful. Great location to the entrance to Zion National Park.
