COMIC BOOK GUY SAYS: WORST HOTEL EVER!

I would not have disliked my stay if the staff wasn't so discourteous. I was in Philly for business, and New Years Day, and the majority of hotels were booked during my time of reservation. Therefore, as soon as I entered the establishment, I asked if the wi-fi was up and running, as I had alot of work to do. Both the receptionist and the sleazy manager assured me I would have no problem. I took about 15 minutes of me waiting on them to book my room because....THE WIFI WAS DOWN! The room is small as all hell, and if I was with my girlfriend we would've been on top of each other. I used the bathroom then decided to leave. They told me they'd take $25 bucks because I used the toilet. OUTRAGEOUS!! Then the manager tried to barge into my room at 9:00 in the morning without knocking or anything. There is a Days Inn Express down the street that I highly recommend for only a couple of dollars more. If you want a motel hell story to tell friends and co workers, go ahead and stay here.
Do Not Stay Here!

The Rodeway Inn at 1208 Walnut St in Philadelphia is a disgrace. The hallways and public areas are shabby, with peeling paint, stained carpets, and easy chairs without seats. My room (606) was adequate but the bathroom had dirt or mildew and cigarette burns on the base of the shower (it?s supposed to be a non-smoking facility). There was no hot water in the shower. There is one elevator, big enough for only two people, with manually operated doors. It broke during my stay (the nights of September 17th and 18th 2007), forcing me to walk up and down six flights of narrow stairs. The fire department had to be called to rescue two guests from the elevator. No elevator inspection certificate was posted. The server was down during part of my stay, depriving me of the opportunity to work in the hotel. Starting at the street entrance door to the lobby, there is no possible handicap access (is this not a requirement in Philadelphia?). The staff was diffident and insincerely apologetic for the inconveniences; one desk clerk held a private phone conversation for several minutes while I waited to check in, and then provided an inoperative room key. There was no clerk at the desk when I wanted to check out at 7:15 AM on the 18th.

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever been in. It was hot in the room supposedly the A/C was on and working in that room but I took the temperature with a lil gadget I have and it was 90 degress in the room, it was miserable. The bed was held up on bricks, half of the channels on the tv didnt work, the room was small, it took 5 minutes for the water to get hot in the shower, the elevator was out of service so I had to carry everything to the 3rd floor, the hallway was dirty and dingy. I asked if I could have a refund 20 minutes after checking in and the girl at the front desk told me that wasnt possible because I had waited 15 minutes too long. So please look at your room and check it out before you go park your car. The girl at the front desk called me about 30 minutes after I told her I wasnt happy with the room and offerend me a 50% refund. Dont stay in this horrible hotel. It's not worth the cost.

I was almost scared to stay here. If it wasn't so late (i had a business meeting early the next morning) i would have left and paid 3 times the charge to stay somewhere else. It was dirty (toilet, carpets bedsheets) and the elevator looked like a tiny closet. I only stayed here because everywhere else was booked or *$$$* a night. I would only stay here if you are a young person trying to save money.
