Description: The accommodations in Philadelphia are wonderful. The Marriott has 3 hotels right in the heart of Center City. All 3 have nicely decorated rooms and restaurants on the premise. The main location at 12th and Market Sts, is very nice. The lobby is beautiful with a huge sitting area in the center. Guest can sit and read a book or have a drink under the lovely green trees that surround the seating. There are two moderately priced eating establishments on the first level. One is a sports bar and I recommend having the Nachos Grande if you frequent there. There is a great hair salon on the premise called Etore. This is the place to go if you really want to be pampered. Only a block away is the imfamous Reading Terminal Market. There you can buy fresh produce, poultry and fish, as well as, munch on some Philadelphia favorites such as: a soft pretzel, cheese steak or hoagie. The Pennsylvania Dutch are there Wednesday thru Saturday with their enormous selection of goods including; homemade salads, cakes, breads and pies and, my favorite, roasteded chicken wings with their special hot sauce. If shopping suits your fancy, The Gallery is 2 blocks away from the Marriott. There you will find a number of stores such as Strawbride and Clothier, the major department store, and K-Mart, as well as a large foodcourt.
