Family vacation in USA

In Washington DC we stayed 3 nights with a two-night break. The hotel is conveniently located (5 min. walk) to Macy's if you enjoy shopping and 10 min. distance from the Metro Central station. The bed is very comfortable, but the room was quite small. As we didn't stay in the room, it was OK. The front desk and concierge were friendly and helpful. The hotel has valet parking for $. When we arrived the parking was full so we used a nearby parking that was cheaper. Starting 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. you may park for free on nearby streets parking places. We didn't have problems finding an open space. The hotel has pool and meeting room but we didn't use. The breakfast is served at a restaurant located in the hotel at the first level. You also have nearby restaurants were you can eat. However, the prices vary from reasonable to expensive.

Great location, great staff, nice hotel, terrible room.

Maybe it was our room. The hotel, itself, seemed nice, great location and safe. I was traveling with children so a safe area was a must and that it was. Our room was a complete disaster, good view though. The bathtub/shower was broken, mildew smell and one of the beds was broken. The staff was absolutely wonderful and very accommodating. This was our first time to DC and the people and city itself were all fabulous. The management wasn't too excited about a refund but in the end they did give one and all was well. (for the record I would have rather paid than deal with the headache of complaints) I'm not one to demand anything or even complain but it seemed as if we ended up in the disaster room. Parking here is expensive but worth it! Great restaurants all around and plenty to do.

Was not Impressed

First of all, plan for $35 per day to park your car here. The hotel was clean and basicly adequate, but for the price, one would expect more. The staff was not rude, but also didn't excert themselves to be friendly. The pool is a joke. About the size of the average living room. The restaurant was ok, but nothing to rave about. It is within walking distance of the National Mall for an active family. My 9 year old twins were able to walk the distance without any trouble. Again, it wasn't a bad hotel, but just not worth the price they charge. The next time I goto DC, I will try a different hotel. Good Luck and enjoy DC, there is tons to do.

Very nice

A very pleasant stay. The room was nice and the beds were very comfortable. The pool is tiny and was a bit disappointing. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Would stay again.

Find somewhere else to stay

The hotel website states that the rooms are newly remodeled. Well the room we had is very small, the air condition barely works, the vent in the bathroom was filled with dust and dirt and blew it into all of our towels, tv menu does not work, coffee machine seems like it was never cleaned before and was clogged causing coffee to spill all over bathroom, and the toilets seats were all cracked and peeling like those you would find in a public park not in a hotel run by sheraton. As for the other amenities of the hotel - unsatisfactory. There is room service, but no menu. The hotel information book in our room was torn up and in shambles. The info book said that you can find the room service menu on the tv menu screen, but that function on our tv didnt work. Instead we called room service and asked what was on the menu. The person who "helped me" seemed very agitated and impatient at the fact that I asked him to tell me what was on the menu and the prices. Feeling agitated that he was agitated I decided not to order at all. Speaking of amenities my wife tried out their gym and was unhappy saying that it was small and every piece of equipment squeaks and she was afraid it was going to fall apart on her. Good points are the free internet and free water bottles. Other than that I would not stay here again, nor would i recommend it to others.
