My family (3 kids & 3 adults) stayed in a 2 bedrooms suite at the SPM Blue Tree Resort. The overall experience is better than I expected except for 2 little incidents that happened during the stay.
The INCIDENTS:
1) Problems with the dead bolt door lock and the steel door plate in the room. This looks like a common problem, since I have read other reviews with the similar problem. From the look of it, it makes you wonder if the door/room has been broken into in the pass and they did a bad job is fixing/covering it up. Anyway, once I noticed the problem, I call the front desk and the repairman came within 15 mins & fix the problem.
2) On the third day, the repairman knock on the door & asked if I call the front desk & requested a screwdriver. This make us wonder again if someone is crank calling with the request or maybe the front desk got mess up with the room number.
Both incidents really make us wonder about the security/safety of the resort. But Luckily, nothing bad happened during our stay.
Now the GOODs:
-Great Kitchen (has everything you can ask for)
-Good size rooms with 2 full baths
-Great Pool - even though the pool outside our room is not heated, but the water is very warm.
-Hotel location is very close to disney park.
-Minutes away from all the shopping & restaurant
I would probably stay at this hotel again only if the price is right.

Our vacation experience staying at the resort was great. The unit had everything (dishes, utensils, detergent, pots and pans, ironing board, iron, microwave, etc.) including a washer and dryer just like being at home. I called ahead of time prior to our arrival and requested if we can have a unit that has washer and dryer. We stayed at the ground floor - there is no elevator, if you happen to be at the second or third floors, you have to carry your luggages. The staff are very friendly and there are lots of activities for kids to do like basketball, Wii tournament with min. fee, pool activities, free movie night etc., everyday there is a schedule of activities to chose from. There were days were we stayed at the resort and it was very relaxing. There is also a free shuttle to the theme parks and to the outlet. Although we had rented a car, we never took it to the parks. We used the car for grocery and visit to the Kennedy Space Center. Of course, with availing of the shuttle, you have to follow the time schedule which may mean if you want to stay until closing of the parks, you may have to take the taxi back to the resort or opt to take the rental car if you have one because when we were there the last shuttle pick-up was 8:45 pm. Try to go to the concierge early to join the free shuttle ride to the theme parks as sometimes there is a line in order for you to get accomodated. There are lots of restaurants close by if you do not want to cook and there is a nearby supermarket and an outlet. I would stay again in this resort...feels like home.

Overall my family was very happy with our stay. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. It is in a fantastic location! Everything you need is close by. I had a good experience with the staff. They were always willing to give directions. However, my mother in law felt that the staff was rude to her. She called the front desk on a few occations and felt that the hotel was not accomodating her very well.
My opinoin on the hotel was that it was great. My only criticisms are that there are no elevators and when you are located on the third floor that can be tiresome. Also, the suite was much smaller that I expected. It was a very mini suite. Oh, and the crib they provided for my son who is two was a "mini" pack n play. The son could not sleep in it because it was soooo small.
Overall, the hotel is a good value for the money. I would definately consider staying here again!
