This was our first trip to Myrtle Beach. I had researched hotels beforehand that would have all of the qualities that a family of 4 with two small children would love. The brochure this hotel sent us was beautiful! Waterpark and lazy river area for the kids, large clean pool area, bright and clean rooms etc. We were so excited to get there! After a long drive of 8 hours and arrival time of 11:30 pm, we couldn't wait to get to our destination. As we approached the general area of where this hotel was located I began to worry that we had made a mistake in directions. Drunken 20 somethings were all over the streets, loud noisy music blasting from cars etc. When we finally saw the sign for the hotel, I was horrified! I begged my husband to turn around and find something else but he was so tired he didn't want to deal with it. To our horror, the check in office was in another building across the street from the hotel so we had to carry all of our luggage acrossed a busy highway with two little kids in tote!! It was so dirty and noisy that I slept in the bathtube all night to avoid germs and noise!! The next morning we left and headed towards Little River area. Much better for families. We stay there all the time now at the Sleep Inn in Little River which is wonderful. What a first impression we had! I amost didn't want to ever come back because of this place.

This resort is nothing that it seems per the website - with the exception of the fact that it's located on the ocean. And that's the ONLY good thing about it. On the weekends the resort is "spring-break-ish" - partying going on until early hours of the morning. We checked in very late and didn't bother with staying there because we feared for our safety. As a travel agent, I booked a group stay there with about 50 other families, most of who canceled their stay there and moved hotels due to the poor quality of this 'resort'. The elevators smelled of urine and the linens on the bed were stained. Very nasty. There are so many nicer resorts just about a mile or two North. I suggest going North if you want a family friendly, clean, enjoyable hotel.
