Great Stay

This was a great place to stay while going to Philadelphia for a weekend getaway & to see a concert. The hotel was nice, bed very comfy, bathroom nice. Parking was $60! I thought that was a bit much. We left the car in the garage all weekend & explored on foot & via taxi. The concierge was very helpful; advised Oyster House 1 1/2 blocks away for delicious seafood & Jim's Steaks for the best cheesesteak. We went to Penn State to see the Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology. That was amazing. Also did some shopping nearby. Hotel has a great central location.

Excellent Week end

Though living in the Philadelphia area, I had to stay in town for business...Sofitel Philadelphia, just like the one they have in Chicago went beyond my expectations : Rooms are especially large, beds incredible and the bathroom....somptuous, all marble. Though I was in regular room they call it 'superior', I was very impressed by the quality of it for such a reasonable price. Next time I have to try their suites!

Don't stay here if you want to sleep

This is an elegant and comfortable hotel BUT its walls are much too thin and its soundproofing is not adequate. It allows its guests to have loud parties in their rooms at 3 a.m. after the bars close. My husband and I called security twice to try to get the noise to stop, but it continued until after 4 a.m. and ruined my night's sleep. The manager did nothing to compensate us for our loss of sleep when we complained to her in the morning.

The Sofitel

All in all the stay at the Sofitel was fine except for the room service. Don't get me wrong the food was great just calling room service was a little bit off. I wouldn't think that calling room service at 2:00 in the afternoon would be that hard, but to get a busy signal then?
