The bar wasn't open that late on a week day, we got the breakfast buffet it was nothing spectacular, the burners were off it was cold I work a casino and hotel in western NY and was very disapointed with this hotel's food service I didn't touch my food and still paid 10 busk for nothing. I would only stay here if I got a discount rate through hotwire or another equally awesome site. If I hadn't paid half the price I would never stay there again. It has been remodeled and the room looked nice but our toilet kept running it was so bad it kept us up most of the night
Fantastic and convenient

Great accomodations attached by enclosed corridor to the riverside convention center, where we were going. Travelocity listed our room as having 2 double beds, but we were pleased to find the room had 2 queens instead. Comfortable beds each had four fluffy pillows. Closet, dresser, large TV, micro, coffeemaker, fridge, desk, carpet, etc. - everything was tip-top. The hotel is near some fast food restaurants (also a couple of blocks from the fabulous Dinosaur Barbeque), and is across the street from a nice "canal walk", where you can walk along the old Erie Canal. The parking garage is attached to the hotel and was an additional $5 per day.
Our reservation through Travelocity said we were to have free breakfast, but when we checked in the hotel employee said that breakfast was not included. When we told him that we had booked with Travelocity and that it was supposed to be included, he asked another employee, who then provided breakfast vouchers for us to use in the dining room. This was fine, but it did make us feel a little uncomfortable, like we were getting away with something that we shouldn't have. You might decide to have this free breakfast info in writing when you check in, but honestly, it was not a problem.
Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel, and would certainly stay there again.

I was in Rochester for the weekend attending a wedding. I was disgusted on Saturday when I was getting in the elevator that a 2-3" bug scurried across the floor and up the wall. I went down to the front desk and spoke with xyz whos only response was there was nothing that they could do about it right now. From past reviews and family members in Rochester I am aware of the bug problem this hotel has had especially with bed bugs but I thought it was something this hotel would take seriously and do something about, which clearly they have not.
On Sunday we ordered room service to the room and it took almost 90 minutes to get a burger and fries. Complete lack of service.
I would NEVER stay in this hotel again, and i recommend those that are considering it do their research before booking a reservation & staying.

Did not like staying in downtown Rochester, but the hotel was central to the wedding we attended. We found all the staff we came into contact with to be friendly and helpful. The Hotel is undergoing renovations, but they did not interfere with our stay. The only negative part of our expereince was our rude neighbors who were very loud last at night and early in the morning--the walls seemed thinner than they should have been.
We would stay in this hotel again as well as Clarion's in other cities.
