Worst hotel EVER

This is, by far, the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The rooms look as if they have never been updated. The beds were uncomfortable. There was mold in the bath tiles. We were assigned to a different room because the first one assigned to us smelled of mold and mildew.
Do not be fooled by the curb appeal and lobby.....

I have no idea why this hotel got such negative reviews. Stayed here for a conference, and it was a GREAT place to stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how the hotel staff would greet me, and seemed interested in attending to my needs. The front staff was well-trained, there was another staff member waiting in the front to answer questions (the hotel is huge), and the rooms were good--the beds are quite soft and comfortable. There was a fire alarm during the day, but that was a minor nuisance. The hotel's location in central Buffalo is terrific---the only drawback is that if you are getting there by automobile, make sure you are on Church St., or you may find yourself negotiating a series of one-way streets to get to the entrance--you can see the building (which is very large), but the nature of Buffalo traffic makes it challenging to get into the hotel itself. I would definitely go to this hotel again...

Stayed for a weekend "dance conference" - Stayed last year it was awful, they promised things were better, but they weren't. When we got home, the department of health sent a survey out because so many people were sick from the weekend. The place is dirty and unkept. The ceiling in the ballroom where the conference was being held was dripping with musty smelling water and at one point the ceiling tiles started falling in on the people in the audience. The only thing I can say is I did not eat there all weekend and couldn't wait to go home and get clean again !!

Beautiful hotel. easy to find. I did, however feel like the staff felt we had walked into the wrong hotel. They were polite, but snooty. I also felt that because I was booked thru an online travel website that I wasn't considered of the same caliber as the other guests. I also felt that online travel website customers were tucked away on the 8th floor away from the "real" guests. The beds were very comfortable. This is the whole reason I booked with a higher priced hotel, because I travel many miles and need to sleep well. But, the ceiling showed signs of water damage and there was wall paper damage. Though the decore was updated, the furniture was a bit beat up. I will probably stick with Hampton next time.
