Cant forget the subway

Not only is a main highway across the street but also the train station. Front desk staff are very rude as well. Oh and lets not forget the car that got broken into and your in the heart of an industrial area that is not very good.

Large and comfortable rooms with a friendly and accomodating staff - though the waterview rooms are certainly preferable,none were available at the time of my stay. Roadside rooms are remarkably quiet. Housekeeping was on the spotty side (perhaps they were short staffed) - arrived late in the day.

We spent one night at the Homewood Oakland and were amazed by everything. We were greeted by an extremely friendly staff (especially their drivers - one whom provided a short tour of the Jack London Square Area). The breakfast was good and the manager's reception was a small but tasty meal. Our suite had a beautiful view of the waterfront. When we return to Oakland, this hotel will definately be on the top of our list.
Highway 880 runs thru room

Hotel is 50 yds. from freeway and busy railroad tracks. Booked 3 nights, checked out after 1. Staff/Mgmt could not switch my room to other side of hotel. Sounds like trucks are running right through your room all night.
