Perfect location and great weekend get-away hotel.

Rooms are huge, and the walls block out noise from other rooms. We have two small children who needed to take mid-day naps, and room to room noise was non-existent. (We even found there were older kids in the room next to us when we ran into them in the hallway one morning.) The hotel was right downtown and very convenient to the metro. The breakfast in the morning was good and had a lot of choices.

We've now stayed at the Square Phillips three times, and loved it each time. The suites are huge, and give our family of four plenty of room to spread out. The location right in the center of Montreal is perfect as well. We returned to Montreal as much because we knew we'd have a great hotel as for the local attractions. Right now this is clearly our favorite hotel ... of any in the world.

We stayed in the 2-bedroom suite, which had a full kitchen, and could easily hold 6 people (2 on the pullout couch), with plenty of room to hang out and sit down to a meal at the large dining table. Nice architecture, and located a quick walk from the Metro. Also just a block from several inexpensive restaurants (I highly recommend Soupebol- not fancy, but good food and not expensive). Great for an extended family traveling together.

The rooms were perfect and the location would be very hard to beat. The only negative complaint that I have is that all the fees were not as thoroughly explained up front and added probably around $50/night. I would definitely return, and would be more aware of the additional costs. However for a New Year's hotel in downtown Montreal for 3 nights, $600+ dollars for two people is not overly expensive.

The room we stayed in was the size of most apartments, was beautiful and affordable. The location was very central to all of downtown and not a long stroll to the old section either. Pool on the roof was small but a nice bonus. Wish there was a hotel bar or restaurant attached but there are plenty of those in the area.
