Great comfort and value

First visit to Montreal. Booked hotel over the web and the arrangements exceeded our expectations. Large, clean room, with kitchenette. Very comfortable king-sized bed. The staff, from the front desk to the bellmen, were extremely helpful and most cordial. Hotel right off Rue St. Catherine and a short walk to Old Montreal. If you're looking for a grand hotel with a huge (functionless) lobby, with gift shops and other extraneous things, this is not your hotel. But if you are looking for a large, clean, comfortable room in a good neighborhood, with shopping, dining, and tourist destinations in walking distance, this is the place. We would absolutely return.

Good Value, especially for a familiy

We spent 4 nights there and everything was as expected. We had a Junior double suite - double bed in an alcove, living room with pull out sofa, and kitchenette. The room was huge and gave room for a family of four to spread out. We made a number of requests (extra pillows, silence the barking dog next door) and all were taken care of promptly and with a smile. The continental breakfast was just ok - cereal, croissants, toast, juice, coffee. (I was hoping for chocolate croissants!) It was busy and they were well staffed to clear dishes and replenish supplies. The pool and exercise area were small but clean and well outfitted, and there is a nice sun deck with lounge chairs on the roof. The location is ok, near University of McGill, and convenient to the Metro, shopping, and major portions of the underground city. But it was a good 15-20 minute walk to Old Montreal (at a fast pace), and there was not a great selection of better resaurants nearby. It was a good location for a family - McDonalds, Burger King, Quiznos, and food courts are very close, as is an IMAX movie theatre. For a romantic getaway, I think there are better choices location-wise.

A great time in Montreal.

Our stay in Montreal was for the International Jazz Festival and the International Fireworks Exhibition. The hotel was so close to the area where the Jazz festival was being held that we easily walked there a few times a day. It was also close to a number of Metro stations, but not that far that you couldn't walk, as we did, to the port area and Old Montreal as well. It's a great city and we had a great time.

This hotel was well located and a tremendous value. We had a two bedroom suite which was more like an apartment. It was wonderful, modern, squeaky clean. Very friendly staff.

Perfect location and great weekend get-away hotel.

Rooms are huge, and the walls block out noise from other rooms. We have two small children who needed to take mid-day naps, and room to room noise was non-existent. (We even found there were older kids in the room next to us when we ran into them in the hallway one morning.) The hotel was right downtown and very convenient to the metro. The breakfast in the morning was good and had a lot of choices.
