Description: This hotel is right on the Gulf of Mexico. The beach is a long stretch of soft, warm sand and the water is calm so it is great for small children.
The hotel offers "Kids Eat Free" with a paying adult at their restaurant, so this can offer substantial savings since this is a resort area and the food tends to be high priced. The restaurant at the hotel offers a good amount of food at a fair price and is located on the top floor of the hotel and has an ocean view from every table. The waitstaff were attentive but not obtrusive. The hotel also has a snack bar right next to the pool/sundeck area so you don't have to leave the warm sun for lunch/snacks during the day. They offer cold sandwiches and even hot dogs and burgers cooked on the grill right there in front of you.
It is also just a short distance (about a half mile) from historic John's Pass where you can do an array of water activities and shopping.
The rooms are good size and have nice sized balconies, many with ocean views. This is an older property so the hot water runs out after a couple of showers and the walls could use a coat of paint, but it is very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms have hairdryers and coffee makers and a nice size TV.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice beach vacation. And stop at a gas station while in the area as they offer discount coupons that the hotel will honor even if you have previously booked at a higher rate. They also offer free drink coupons to their Priority Club guests.
