Very Nice!

We enjoyed a very nice stay at this older restored hotel. The rooms are very nice indeed. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is excellent but the supper menu is pricey for what you get. There are much better choices for supper in Halifax. I inquired about the rear parking lot which states it costs $*a night. The front counter confirmed that is what I wiould have to pay to park there BUT when I checked out they never charged me for it so I'm not sure whats up with that. We checked out early when there was no parking lot attendant on and he was the one who always asked for our room number when exiting the lot. Maybe early check outs beat the system with respect to the parking fees. or maybe its because I inquired about the parking at the front counter and stated that I thought tthe parking should be free for their guests. Overall a great hotel especially if you get a good room rate which we did on travel website.

The staff at the Westin Halifax Hotel couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The room was comfortable, the bed was lush, the view of the harbor provided an added attraction. They provide a coutsey van for in city locations and are convienent for touring the harbor area. This hotel is an old one with a long history that has been kept up well and modernized. Internet service is provided in the room (at a charge) or in the business center (complementary) on a first come basis (they have two computers for guest use). I found the staff very helpful when planning a outing to Cape Breton, they provide maps and suggested routes. I would stay there again.

Historic Hotel Nicely Updated

This is a great old railroad hotel, very nicely updated with large rooms in our case, set on long, wide hallways. Our room with a view of the harbor was comfortable enough for two of us over a six day stay, nicely appointed and nothing cheap about it. Beds were very comfortable. Very professional hotel staff. The location is in a quiet setting just a few blocks from the center of tourist activity, and an easy walk to the waterfront. Halifax and the rest of NS, and Prince Edward Isle definitely worth a visit. Our only problem was the attempt to charge us an outrageous $* per day for wifi access. I refused to pay it and wasn't charged.

Westin's Heavenly Bed really was! Location is good. Street parking is free overnight and at weekends. Popular hotel.

The hotel is perhaps the best located in downtown Halifax, just a few blocks away from the center. We found it to be very professional, friendly, clean, upscale. It's a traditional old fashioned railroad hotel, tastefully modernized. Our room overlooking the harbor was large enough for a week, beds very comfortable. Only problem was their attempt to charge $11 per day for wifi access. I refused to pay it, and was not charged. Very highly recommended, as is Halifax, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Isle, etc.
