This is the most special place to visit...Disnayland. When you stay at the Disneyland Hotel it makes the visit so much more exciting. The staff is very helpful, from the front desk to the housekeeping!
It is so very convenient, we didn't have to drive our car for the entire visit.
While it is expensive to eat, there are many places to choose from at the park and the hotel.
Great . . . for the right price

On first impressions I would rate the quaility of room 2.5 star hotel. It was no better than a room at a Marriott Courtyard. The Disney decor brought the room up to 3 stars.
Check-in was great. We drove all-night from Northern Nevada. The fronk desk person put us immediately into a room at 8:30 am. So I could get some shut-eye while the rest of the family spent time in the park.
Everyone should have character dining experience on their trip to Disneyland, but only once. We ate at Goofy's Kitchen for brunch. At $35 per person, you are paying half for the food and the other half for a little one-on-one time with characters and Disney experience. The food was good so I have no complaints.
Proximity to the park was a bit disappointing (not enough to prevent an excellent rating). The Good Neighbor Hotels on the east side of the resort (Harbor Blvd) were closer to the theme park entrances than we were. You could take the monorail into Tomorrowland from Downtown Disney which is about one city block from the hotel, but you'll have to take a brisk walk to if you want to get to California Adventure.
A Great Trip!!!

My 1st time staying at the Disneyland Hotel, and it was everything I expected. The room was a nice size, the beds were very comfortable and the pool was a great place to unwind. About the only thing I could complain about, is that there was no complementary coffee in the morning. This trip was an early graduation present for my daughter, who is graduating from college in May. We have stayed at a lot of hotels around Disneyland, and I must say the Disneyland Hotel was the best as far as hotels go. Booking it through are online agency was a real breeze. Definitely, a do again experience.
Big disappointment.

We wanted to stay at the Disneyland hotel for convenience and because we expected it to be very nice. Boy was it a disappointment. It was not convenient we would have done better at a good neighbor hotel taking a shuttle. Way overpriced. It was like paying 3 times the price for a budget hotel. The shower was a drizzle and looked terrible. The rooms were small and dated. Save your money and stay at a good neighbor hotel.
Expensive, but convenient location

This was the second time we stayed here. The room was in the "Wonder" building. Checking in took a long time. There weren't a lot of people in line, the staff just took a long time with each person who checked in. The room was not as nice as the last time we stayed, it didn't have a much themed items in the room (Mickey Mouse sink, etc). Each night we could hear the fireworks. On one occasion we were trying to sleep and they woke us up.
Advantages to staying here:
- Can walk to Disneyland and California adventure
- Can return for rest relatively easily
- Hotel Pool is nice (water's a bit cold) and a convenient break
- Can access Disneyland 1 hour early.
Disadvantages:
- Cost: for a truly average hotel, $ per night is very expensive.
